Devendra has been the subject of solid support after drawing the coveted pole position in Friday’s Group One TABtouch WA Pacing Cup (2936m) at Gloucester Park.
Punters have quickly reacted to Devendra and his inside position with the Bettors Delight gelding shortening from $5 to $3 and outright favouritism for the $450,000 feature.
Devendra, to be driven by James Rattray, was one of the surprise packers of the recent Interdominion series after being named first emergency when final rankings were released.
The Tasmanian-bred gelding won two of his three heats including an all-the way victory on opening night before knocking up to finish last behind Lennytheshark in the final on December 13.
Beaudiene Boaz, one of five runners for powerful trainer, Gary Hall Snr, is out to $3.20 from his opening quote of $2.60 after drawing inside of the back row.
Beaudiene Boaz is on a winning streak of four after taking out the McInerney Ford Classic (2130m), the Golden Nugget (2536m), the Village Kid Sprint (1730m) and last week’s Fremantle Pacing Cup (2536m).
