In December 2016, Racing and Wagering Western Australia, incorporating WA Country Cups and Community TAB, launched the 2017 WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field with even bigger stakes up for grabs for this year’s Final.
Next month the initiative will be making its’ way to Pinjarra for the Peel Regional Heat, which will be held at the Pinjarra Race Club’s Ladies Day on Saturday 11 February 2017.
In a major coup ambassador for WA Country Cups, Holly Young, and last year’s WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field winner, Dr Sarah McEwan, will be guest judges on the day.
“I’m super excited to be heading to Pinjarra for the Peel Regional Heat. Pinjarra always puts on a fantastic day and I can’t wait to see what the ladies have to offer in the Fashions on the Field,” said Ms Young.
Dr McEwan, who won the 2016 WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field representing the Pilbara, gave some advice to those ladies looking to enter this year’s competition.
“Confidence is my biggest tip, not only for the stage but also in your outfit selection. If other ladies are anything like myself, they have researched for hours to come up with their chosen outfits, therefore you need to know your shape, know what cuts look best on your body and have no fear in making the necessary online purchase. Styling needs to be to your own personal taste and should be executed with courage and confidence,” said Dr McEwan.
The winner of the Peel heat will receive an invitation to compete in the WA Country Cups Fashions on the Final at Ascot Racecourse on December 2, where they will compete against other regional finalists for a trip for two to London, with Motive Travel, to attend arguably the most famous racing carnival in the world, Royal Ascot.
To add to the prize pool the winner will also receive $10,000 spending money thanks to TABtouch, as well as a voucher for popular Western Australian handbag and accessory label, Jessica Bratich.
The WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field is a state-wide racing fashion competition, open to fashionistas from all over WA, and consists of nine regional heats held at major country race meetings across the State.
Local girl, Nadia Bishop, was the Peel Regional Heat winner for 2016, and represented the region in the 2016 WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field Final.
