State-wide WA Fashions on the Field competition launches for 2021
Fashionistas will be given the chance to win the ultimate Broome racing holiday, as Racing and
Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) today unveils its prizes for the 2021 WA Fashions on the Field
series.
Any winner of a fashions on the field competition held at a WA thoroughbred race club between 27
October 2020 and 25 October 2021, is eligible to nominate themselves for the 2021 WA Fashions on
the Field Final.
The winner of the 2021 WA Fashions on the Field Final will receive a trip for two to the natural
phenomena that is Broome, including tickets to the highly anticipated Broome Cup, plus $10,000 thanks
to TABtouch and a $5,000 Linneys voucher.
Last year’s WA Fashions on the Field final winner, Anna Hildebrandt, who took out the coveted title with
her vintage inspired outfit, said she enjoyed the competition and encourages ladies throughout WA to
get involved in the 2021 competition.
“I absolutely loved the whole journey. From creating my look, then to be fortunate to showcase it to the
State at the Final.” Anna said.
“Another highlight for me was being able to meet the other contestants from across WA and create new
friendships with these amazing ladies that I will have forever.”
RWWA General Manager Racing Charlotte Mills said that since the beginning of racing, fashion has
played a major part in a day at the races, and it was wonderful to have the ladies back on-course for this
year’s series.
“With the advent of COVID-19 during 2020, many fashions on the field events scheduled to take place
at WA racetracks were cancelled. We were able to host regional heats online to still provide ladies with
the opportunity to put their outfits to use and have the chance to score a spot in the Final.”
“It was incredible to see the creativity during these heats, not only just through the outfits themselves,
but how so many of the ladies were able to capture the natural landscapes and uniqueness of their
regions.”
“We have been fortunate to recommence racing with patrons on-course, allowing us to once again fuse
the excitement of the races with the fun of fashion.”
The Final will consist of a top 12, with ten finalists selected from a RWWA judging panel, and the
remaining two spots selected by public vote.
