Stefsbest Returns In Style
Talented pacer Stefsbest has returned to racing in style, taking out the GKR Transport Pace (2185m) at Pinjarra yesterday.
Having his first start since January last year, Stefsbest wore down stablemate Gee Jay Kay over the closing stages to score by a half-neck.
The six-year-old settled at the rear of the field for Chris Voak from barrier seven, while Gee Jay Kay led.
The Ross Olivieri-trained pacer then peeled out four-wide at the 400m mark and sustained his run to the finish line.
The son of Sportswriter rated 1.56.8 and ran home in 57.7 to take his record to nine wins from 28 starts.
Stefsbest showed plenty of ability in the early stages of his stint In Perth, finishing top two at his first four starts.
Voak and Olivieri teamed up to take out the Fresh Convenience Catering 2YO Westbred Pace (1684m) with debutant Griffin Lodge, who scored a comfortable 7.2m win.

It was one of three winners on the day for driver Gary Hall Jnr, who scored with Gold Medley in the NK & J Grant Smash Repairs Pace (2185m) and Our Star Watch in the Countrywide Insurance Brokers Pace (2185m).
Elsewhere, trainer Greg Bond said Newsy could be set for the WA Oaks next month, following her win in the 4Life Physiotherapy Fillies & Mares Pace (2185m).
