Trainer Enzo Crudeli heads into Saturday night’s Listed Winter Cup series with a strong hand rugging up three runners in both of the 520 metre heats.
Among them is the former Victorian Crackerjack Skip who will be making his WA debut from box eight in race four.
Crackerjack Skip has put together a consistent record on the east coast starting 31 times for 9 wins and 9 placings including wins at Sandown over 515 metres in 29.61 seconds and over 525 metres at the Meadows in 29.90 seconds.
Crackerjack Skip’s latest run was a particularly strong form reference placing behind two of Australia’s most high profile sprinters Orson Allen and Flynn in a heat of the Harrison Dawson at Sandown.
The Selling Dreams Syndicate headed up by Kevin Adams recently purchased Crackerjack Skip as well as gun stayer Boom Down and both chasers look set to strengthen the top grade sprint and staying ranks respectively.
“We are delighted to have both Skip and Boom down join our kennels and are really looking excited about what they can deliver in the coming months” Kennel Spokesperson Graham Crudeli said.
“Crackerjack Skip has been very competitive against some of Victoria’s best sprinters and he gets here with plenty of racing left in him.” Crudeli added.
“It is great to have a bunch of very enthusiastic owners involved in both of the dogs and they have paid to play so we are really hoping for some great times ahead with both chasers.” Crudeli commented.
In regards to Crackerjack Skip for this weekend Crudeli was quick to point out that the draw has done him no favours.
“Skip is looking a million dollars and he has trialled really well heading into Saturday night but he is mad for the fence and he is yet to run a place from 4 tries from the eight so it’s likely to be tough from out there.” Crudeli said.
“We are hoping he can run top four this week and draw down closer to the rail for next week’s final.” he added.
In the same heat Perth Cup runner up Hecton Bale has drawn box one and Verne Allen is drawn in box six for the Crudeli kennel.
“Hecton Bale is a real box one bandit and he should run a great race from his favourite box.” Crudeli commented.
“Unfortunately Verne Allen has a really sticky draw and will need luck to work into the race.”
“The box draw has certainly fallen in favour of Hecton and he looks our best chance in heat one.” Crudeli suggested.
In the second of the heats Crudeli has Black Bombshell in box two, Mossimo Bale in four and Snazzy Whompo in box eight.
“Snazzy Whompo looks our best hope in the second heat but it goes without saying that West On Augie will take a stack of stopping.” Crudeli said.
“Snazzy has been trialling well so he looks ready to go and the box should pose no problem as he is happy out there. He looks a good each way play.” Crudeli added.
Of the rest of the runners Crudeli had in on the night Graham found two for the punters to follow.
“Dyna Orenthal can run a nice race over 715 metres in race four and Go Brandi is an each way chance at good odds in race 7.” Crudeli concluded.
