He’s a seven-year-old, but according to jockey Jarrad Noske the best is still ahead for Floyd.

Noske partnered Floyd to a rails hugging win in the Jockey Celebration Sprint (1000m) on Saturday, handing brothers Chris and Michael Gangemi a dream start to their training partnership.

Despite Floyd’s best figures over short races, Noske believes the Not A Single Doubt gelding can successful stretch out to a mile.

Racing first-up this campaign, Noske says Floyd’s seventh win from 24 starts was career defining.

“I thought it was the best win of his career,” Noske said on Tabradio.

“I thought he may have needed further, last prep he won really well over 1400m.

“I wasn’t over confident really, I knew he would run a good race, but I thought it may have been a bit short.”

After going close to landing a knockout blow in feature races, Noske believes Floyd can add black-type success to his record in his current campaign.

Floyd ran third to Valour Road in last year’s Bolton Sprint (1200m) and in February he filled the same placing behind Flower Of War in the Cyril Flower Stakes (1200m).

“He is very lightly raced and I think he is only hitting his straps now,” Noske said.

“I reckon he will love a mile, we’ll get him to 1200m and 1400m and even a mile this prep.

“I think he will love it and surely he will be picking up one of those feature races.”
