The Last Word – Friday August 21
Tomorrow night sees the running of the Binshaw Pace at Gloucester Park. Get the all important last word from the key connections in each of the nine races.
RACE 1 – TABTOUCH PACE
1.Nathan Turvey (Alta Rhett): “Going well. Has led and won before. Will make the most of the draw.”
3.Greg Bond (Starlight Destiny): “Racing in career best form. Hopefully get a good trip and she won’t be too far away. Hopefully we get in the running line.”
4.Ross Olivieri (The Last Parisian): “Last run was good. Distance will suit. If he gets a nice run he’s a very good chance in the race.”
5.Gary Hall Jnr (The Verandah): “Rough each way chance from another bad draw.”
6.Bailey McDonough (Minimum Wage): “Going career best. Just needs a draw in one of these races to be in the money or dangerous with the right luck. I’ll be going back this week and just looking to find the gaps late in the race.”
8.Michael Grantham (Major Shard): “Last start he went good. A bit of a one trick pony. 2500 will suit. If he can get on the three-wide train he’s got a great turn of foot the last 400.”
9.Deni Roberts (Euphoric Moment): “Continues to draw poorly but the horse has been consistently racing well. 2500 will bring him into it. Should be getting home late.”
10.Ross Olivieri (Diamond Life): “Last run was good. He will settle in that three back the fence position. Probably more of a place chance with a knock out winning hope.”
11.Kyle Harper (El Sunami): “Draw suits. Duck across to be three back the rail.”
12.Aldo Cortopassi (Art Tutor): “He will run his usual honest race. Look to try and get into it at some stage. From 12 we might have to make our own luck.
RACE 2 – SIMMONDS STEEL PACE
1.Ross Olivieri (Jimmy Mack): “Looks to be the lock. Baylan Jett looks to be the biggest danger. Jimmy trialled well on Sunday. I expect him to lead and win.”
2.Michael Grantham (Baylan Jett): “The one looks the leader and hard to beat. I’d say Dave would tell me to have a red hot crack for a little bit. If we don’t lead we’re still going to be a top three chance.”
3.Aiden De Campo (Delightfulreaction): “I was quite happy with the run last week. Hard to beat Jimmy Mack from the one but she’s a definite place chance off what we saw last week.”
4.Matt Scott (Charlie El): “Place chance with the tricky draw.”
5.Matt Scott (Qtown Rip Roaring): “Going to win one of these. Needs pace on.”
6.Gary Hall Snr (Extreme Prince): “Should’ve gone close last start. Hard to know where he ends up.”
8.Ryan Warwick (Sir Nicholas): “Will need luck.”
9.Matt Scott (Twentynince Twelve): “Too hard for him. Wait for a draw.”
10.Matt Scott (Carramar Philemon): “Held up last week. Definitely a place chance behind the one horse.”
11.Matt Scott (Clarenden Hustler): “Will go three pegs. Place chance too.”
12.Jocelyn Young (Maximum Demand): “Top five chance with the right splits.”

RACE 3 – MONDO DORO SMALLGOODS PACE
1.Matt Scott (C C Chevron): “Great first-up. Good each way chance.”
3. Aiden De Campo (Delightfulreaction): “Versatile little mare. She rarely runs a bad race. She will be in the first five or six and when she lobs there she normally runs there as well.”
4.Jocelyn Young (Pierre Whitby): “Awkward draw. Never far away.”
5.Kyle Harper (Black Jack Zac): “Racing well. Last start was good. With a bit of luck he’s and each way chance.”
6.Deni Roberts (Ideal Investment): “I think this horse is ready to win when he gets a draw to lead but this isn’t one of them. Will be sitting in and looking for short cuts.”
8.Greg Bond (Captain Kirk): “Barrier draw makes it hard. Probably only a top five hope from the barrier.”
10.Gary Hall Snr (Tuas Delight): “If the one hands over to the two it will be hard to win.”
11.Nathan Turvey (Jack William): “Not ideal draw. If he’s up on speed though he will be hard to beat.”
12.Gary Hall Snr (Undercover Mac): “Each way. Lightly assessed horse. Hopefully we can get on the back of Jack William.”
RACE 4 – VILI’S FAMILY BAKERY PACE
1.Kyle Harper (Im Johnny Jet): “Unlucky on Tuesday night. Likes of Galactic Star and Gee Jay Kay. Hopefully we can sit on the back of Galactic Star.”
2.Emily Suvaljko (Anime): “Not sure if he has enough gate speed to cross the one. He prefers them running along so if they run it to suit he’s a top four contender.”
3.Michael Grantham (Crocodile Kid): “I don’t think Galactic Star will have any trouble beating this field.”
4.Greg Bond (Galactic Star): “Great race for him. Every opportunity to use his class. Happy how he came through Good race to return to winners circle.”
5.Matt Scott (Always Arjay): “Getting better again. Driven tougher I think this week. Looks a strong place chance.”
6.Matt Scott (Rock Me Over): “He will run another honest race.”
8.Ross Olivieri (Gee Jay Kay): “Galactic Star is what we have to race. He’s getting back to form though Gee Jay Kay.”
RACE 5 – THE BINSHAW PACE
1.Mitchell Miller (Destined To Rule): “Perfect draw in a high quality field. Should get the run he likes and is absolutely flying. Will be in this all the way.”
2.Michael Brennan (Forgotten Highway): “I think he will find the front and be hard to beat.”
3.Aiden De Campo (Mandy Joan): “I thought sectional times over the last three wins have been really good. We won’t have to panic no matter what happens early.”
4.Shannon Suvaljko (Sergeant Oats): “Ran a nice race first-up. Will improve but it’s a good field so he will need luck.”
5. Michael Brennan (Sangue Reale): “Impressed with his work on Wednesday. He’s close to getting back to where he was at the end of the four-year-old season. Hopefully he can find a handy spot.”
6.Gary Hall Snr (Robbie Easton): “Hard to win. He will need luck. If there’s speed on he’s an each way chance.”
7.Greg Bond (Patronus Star): “Will give Ryan the reins and let him do his best. Not a one trick horse. Got a good turn of foot. Not the end of the world if we have to go back.”
8.Jocelyn Young (Bracken Sky): “Racing super. Could surprise with the right breaks.”
9. Michael Brennan (Braeview Bondi): “Difficult from the draw but put him the blackbook on the TABtouch app.”
10. Michael Brennan (Rebel With A Grin): “Trained on well. Looks to get an easy run three back on the pegs.”
11.Dylan Egerton-Green (Machs Gold): “Will be driven for luck but is a genuine top five contender.”
12. Gary Hall Snr (My Carbon Copy): “Not able to do work. Each way chance.”
RACE 6 – WORLDWIDE PRINTING PACE
1.Aldo Cortopassi (Theo Aviator): “Will be an honest race with Convert Denario and While They Pray. We will run the gate hard and then play it by ear.”
2.Kyle Harper (Son Of A Tiger): “Very competitive Free-For-All. Drawn well needs luck. Should put in a good showing. A bit of luck he will be thereabouts.”
3.Michael Grantham (Convert Denario): “Looks a winnable race. I don’t think I have any choice other than to go forward. Hopefully I can push my way forward.”
4.Gary Hall Jnr (While They Pray): “Will be driven to his normal pattern. Another big test for him but he just keeps getting better.”
5.Ross Olivieri (Stroke Of Luck): “He’s shown he’s pretty versatile. Good degree of toughness and good degree of speed. I think he showed with his second to Chicago Bull he won’t be embarrassed in the class. He probably rolls forward and see where he lands.”
6.Aldo Cortopassi (Roman Aviator): “Improved a bit this campaign. He will be driven cold but he’s going well.
7.Gary Hall Snr (Ideal Liner): “If he was drawn to lead he’d win. From seven here it will be hard.”
8.Ross Olivieri (Motu Premier): “I think he will need the run. He will be driven soft and see if he can get home.”
9.Aiden De Campo (Handsandwheels): “It hasn’t been an ideal preparation for him. Last week was a really good run from him. It’s a tricky race. It wouldn’t surprise me if they ran an easy middle section then ripped home in 55 again.”
10.Dylan Egerton-Green (Bletchley Park): “Racing excellently. Needs some luck to go his way but from the draw he’s a great each way chance.”
RACE 7 – ETCH COATINGS PACE
1.Ryan Warwick (The Black Cardinal): “Drop in grade. On last start he will go well.”
2.Dylan Egerton-Green (Our Perkins): “Will try to lead. Doesn’t have to lead to play a part though as he’s racing well from bad draws.”
3.Deni Roberts (Henwood Bay): “Pet distance for this horse and has drawn to land where he’s suited. Expecting to run well.”
4.Gary Hall Snr (Mister Bushido): “Should’ve won last week. The draw is just no good. Has to go forward. He needs some luck but he’s going well enough.”
5.Emil Suvaljko (Talkerup): “Will be pushing forward and looking for a position.”
6.Greg Bond (Courage Tells): “Drive for luck. Harder than last week. Will duck for cover.”
7.Ross Olivieri (Madame Meilland): “Hard from the draw. She will have improved from last week. She’s getting close to her top.”
8.Jocelyn Young (Mister Ardee): “Bad draw but he’s not out of it.”
9.Gary Hall Snr (Our Rhythm N Blues): “Going to be hard from the draw.”
10.Michael Grantham (Bob Wheel): “Perfect draw. We are going to be behind the leader or three back.”
11.Brett Smith (Burning Rubber): “Horse will run a good race in a fairly even field. Will need his share of luck.”

RACE 8 – DIRECT TRADES SUPPLY PACE
1.Bailey McDonough (Thejewelinhereye): “Another one of Hayden’s that is going career best. Last two runs have been good considering the fact she loves the pegs. You’d assume Typhoon Tiff will be the first to ask the question so sitting on her would be ideal. If they move along she will appreciate the honest pace.”
2.Dylan Egerton-Green (Nowuseemesmile): “Looks to be three the fence. Tough field but is a top five chance.”
3. Colin Brown (Typhoon Tiff): “Has been hitting a knee that has been fixed with more hopplework. Should find the front and improve on last run.”
4.Jocelyn Young (Has No Fear): “Will be driven quietly and am hoping for a top five finish.”
5.Aiden De Campo (American Delight): “She’s got the ability to match them. Her best asset against these mares would be speed. Will be relying on a little bit of luck with other horses putting pressure on.”
6.Gary Hall Snr (Fake News): “Her last half last start was 54.9. Hard to beat if the pressure is on early. I think the six, seven and eight look the main chances.”
7.Gary Hall Snr (Just Rockon Bye): “Will need the right run. Probably can’t beat Alfie Romeo again.”
8.Greg Bond (Our Alfie Romeo): “Ryan timed her last week in 1.53 and a piece. She’s somewhere near her best and going well enough to win. The next best two are drawn alongside her. It will be a very competitive and tactical affair.”
RACE 9 – PERTH PLASTERBOARD CENTRE PACE
1.Shannon Suvaljko (Red Hot Lady): “Nice filly who’s going to her bet. Can lead this race and be hard to catch.”
2.Michael Grantham (Rockin The Trend): “They probably want the one to lead so I’ll be ducking straight in behind it.”
5.Aiden De Campo (Alta Engen): “We will be pushing forward quite hard and be having a decent crack for the top.”
6.Kyle Harper (Medieval Man): “He’s low flying. Drawn a bit awkwardly. He’s an each way chance.”
7.Gary Hall Jnr (Askmeilltellya): “Rough place chance.”
8.Greg Bond (Weewah): “Racing very well. She stuck on nicely on Monday after breezing. From the draw she can be in the top three or four again.”
