Friday night sees the running of the Schrader Pace for the fillies and mares at Gloucester Park. Get the all important thoughts of the trainers and drivers below. Infinite Symbol, pictured above, took out last year’s edition of the feature.
RACE 1 – PERTH PLASTERBOARD CENTRE PACE
1.John Graham (Miss Eerie): “She’s been going well. If she holds up she will be a major player. Been racing as well as most of them.”
2.Dylan Egerton-Green (Star In Art): “Racing well. With some luck in this she’s an each-way chance.”
3.Chris Voak (Fireballl Friday): “Novelty chances look best.”
4.Deni Roberts (Soho Party Girl): “Step up in grade for this filly. Is improving with every run. Will be looking to slot into a forward positon.”
5.Shannon Suvaljko (Red Hot Lady): “Going well. Always a chance. Can lead or sit and be dangerous.”
7.Gary Hall Jnr (Askmeilltellya): “Each-way chance despite the draw. Forget last run.”
8.Aiden De Campo (Some Copper Beach): “Draw hurts her chances.”
10. Michael Grantham (Rockin The Trend): “Perfect draw to get a perfect run. Good last week. Place all day with a chance for the win if we get the splits.”
RACE 2 – DIRECT TRADES SUPPLY PACE
3.Aldo Cortopassi (Art Tutor): “Going super. Right in this again.”
4.Greg Bond (Starlight Destiny): “Place chance with a good trip.”
7.Shannon Suvaljko (Caruba): “Racing well but needed to draw. Wait until she draw.”
8.Matt Scott (Carramar Philemon): “Will be a struggle from the draw.”
9.Aiden De Campo (The Verandah): “Even field but will need luck from the draw.”
11.Gary Hall Jnr (Blissfulabbey): “Got one to beat in Boom Time. She’s flying. Had no right to win on Monday.”
12.Ross Olivieri (Boom Time): “On 99 winners so hopefully this will be 100 for the season. 12 is not the worst draw. He can lob midfield.”
RACE 3 – WESTSIDE AUTO WHOLESALE PACE
1.Gary Hall Snr (Robbie Easton): “Should lead and win.”
2.Emily Suvaljko (Carter Micheal): “Draws ideally to land leaders back. Got a good turn of foot. With a bit of luck late he will be hitting the line strongly. I think he’s my best drive of the night.”
3. Michael Grantham (Bob Wheel): “Awkward draw. Probably best to go three the rail.
4.Aiden De Campo (Baylan Jett): “One looks hard to beat. Racing well. He’s a top three contender.”
6.Ross Olivieri (Diamond Life): “Up in class. Nice effort last week. Won’t get the luxury of that run. Rough place chance but is on the improve.”
7.Gary Hall Snr (Mister Bushido): “He will probably run a place.”
RACE 4 – GLENROY CHAFF PACE
- Ray Williams (Convert Denario): “He’s good. We’re pretty happy with him. I’d say with his gate speed he will lead. He’s the sort of horse you have to go forward.”
- Ross Olivieri (Motu Premier): “Is in with a chance. He needed the run but went well last week. That run would’ve brought him into line and this is his pet distance.”
- Aldo Cortopassi (Theo Aviator): “Improved on last run. Will roll forward.”
- Gary Hall Snr (Ideal Liner): “Went well last week but he was never any hope.”
- Aldo Cortopassi (Roman Aviator): “He will be driven quietly.”
- Gary Hall Snr (My Carbon Copy): “Going great guns. He will need a lot of luck. He’s going to get better and better.”
- Michael Brennan (Sangue Reale): “Distance suits as does the rise in grade. He needs the tempo on. He will get better.”
- Stephen Reed (Bletchley Park): “The draw makes it tough but the distance suits.”
- Emily Suvaljko (Anime): “This horse loves the solid tempo and draws ideally to be leaders back. Quality field but he’s always doing his best work on the line.”
RACE 5 – THE SCHRADER PACE
1.Chris Voak (Queen Shenandoah): “Perfect draw. Gets her chance to lead.”
2.Aiden De Campo (Mandy Joan): “Disappointing last week but was three weeks between runs. I was probably too easy on her. Has worked well this week and expect her to return to her previous form.”
3. Michael Grantham (Nowuseemesmile): “Stiff draw for her. Can’t see much going our way unfortunately.”
4.Shannon Suvaljko (C C Chevron): “Going well but the draw is difficult this week.”
6.Colin Brown (Typhoon Tiff): “There’s speed there. Paced terribly last week and was only beaten eight metres. I’ve made some drastic gear changes. With the change in gear I hope I’ve got her right.”
8.Deni Roberts (My Prayer): “Won well last week but drawn poorly so will need luck.”
9.Aiden De Campo (American Delight): “Racing really well. Draw makes it hard but she’s got the ability to overcome it.”
12.Ross Olivieri (Just Makemine Diamonds): “Runs have bought her up to speed. Hope she will show something.”
RACE 6 – COWDEN THE INSURANCE BROKERS PACE
1.Matt Scott (Qtown Rip Roaring): “Racing well. Great each way chance.”
2.Shannon Suvaljko (Clarenden Hustler): “Going well. Will lead and take beating in this field.”
3.Michael Brennan (Braeview Bondi): “Better draw. Probably end up outside the leader or one-one on Talkerup.”
5.Gary Hall Snr (Tuas Delight): “Each-way chance. Not an overly strong race.”
6.Emily Suvaljko (Talkerup): “Will go forward off the arm and looks like she will end up in the breeze again. Not out of this class if she puts her best foot forward.”
7.John Graham (Stop The Watch): “Needs barrier one or 10 in a race like this.”
8.Ross Olivieri (Quick Stride): “First start for us and the draw hurts. Some place chance. Pleasing us at home.”
9.Aiden De Campo (Delightfulreaction): “Draw hurts her but was good last start. Normally holds form when she finds it.”
RACE 7 – BETTER YOUR BET WITH TABTOUCH PACE
1.Ross Olivieri (Madame Meilland): “On last run she’ll find Jimmy Mack hard to beat.”
2. Michael Grantham (Crocodile Kid): “More than likely be three the rail. Can place.”
4.Chris Voak (Bettor Party): “Tricky draw. Still an each way chance.”
5.Greg Bond (Courage Tells): “Place chance again with a good trip.”
6.Ross Olivieri (Jimmy Mack): “Happy with him. He’s come on from last week and will look to slot in.”
7.Shannon Suvaljko (Rock Me Over): “Racing well. Needs a little luck to be in the finish again.”

RACE 8 – WESTRAL PACE
1.Colin Brown (Hez A Chance): “First stand. He qualified not long ago. Interested to see how he goes.”
2.Michael Grantham (Call Me Ernie): “Short course stand. Bruce must have him going well if he’s coming straight to town.”
4.Greg Bond (J B Mauney): “Good chance with a good beginning.”
5.Chris Voak (Kiwi Bloke): “Hope for a quick beginning and try to lead. If not he should be sitting close to the pace. Each way.”
6.Shannon Suvaljko (Atmospherical): “Stand suits. Distance suits. Good place chance.”
7.Michael Brennan (Rebel With A Grin): “Standing start suits. If the opportunity presents he will be driven assertively. Gets his chance for a top three finish.”
8.Ashleigh Markham (Budd Sidewinder): “Needs a little luck but steps well and could be a sneaky place chance.”
10.Dylan Egerton-Green (Im Batman): “Benn over racing and not racing at his best. Hopefully batwoman has him relaxed and ready to perform.”
RACE 9 –RETRAVISION PACE
1.Ashleigh Markham (Sammys Ideal): “Gets the right draw following the right horse. Just needs luck late to be in the finish.”
2.Stephen Reed (Lord Rosco): “Should lead and be hard to beat.”
3.Chris Voak (The Black Cardinal): “Looks to be a good race to give him a sit and use his speed late.”
5.Deni Roberts (Franco Joaquin): “Looks a lot of early speed and the mile will suit. Will speak to Sue as to whether we push the button or not.”
6.Greg Bond (Captain Kirk): “Racing well. Place chance from the draw.”
7.Emily Suvaljko (Machs Gold): “Hasn’t got an ideal draw over the mile but his speed is his best asset. Will be driven cold early and doing his best work late.”
8.Ross Olivieri (Gee Jay Kay): “On the improve. Another step to peak form last week. Looking forward to that peak form.”
RACE 10 – ALLWOOD STUD FARM PACE
1.Deni Roberts (Ideal Investment): “Got the draw. Can lead and win depending on the early pressure.”
3.Gary Hall Snr (Extreme Prince): “Each way chance. Think the four may lead so it won’t be up for grabs.”
5.Dylan Egerton-Green (Jesse Allwood): “Up in grade but racing well.”
6.Shannon Suvaljko (Charlie El): “Not a strong field. Could be run honestly so never underestimate him.”
8.Emily Suvaljko (Cavalry Call): “Looks to be a bit of speed in the early stages which will bring us into it. Will be looking for shortcuts and if it’s run upside down he’s always there abouts.”
9.Matt Scott (Twentynine Twelve): “Right race. Wrong draw.”
10.Chris Voak (Ohoka Titan): “Good trailing draw. Each way on best form.”
