The Last Word – Howard Porter Memorial Night
Get the all important last word from the key players on tomorrow night’s 10 event card at Gloucester Park. Vampiro, pictured above, took out last year’s Howard Porter Memorial.
RACE 1 – ETCH COATINGS PACE
1.Gary Hall Jnr (Bolta): “Leads and wins according to the trainer.”
2. Ross Olivieri (The Last Parisian): “Didn’t race last week. He’s fresh enough to run some sort of race.”
3. Jocelyn Young (Regal Ambition): “Needs a better draw.”
4. Cody Wallrodt (Babyface Adda): “Racing below expectations. Will look to keep him covered up until late. Looking for improvement.”
5. Aiden De Campo (The Kraken): “Really good last week. Will roll forward from the gate.”
6. Ryan Bell (Blue Blazer): “He looks good when he shouldn’t go well. When he gets a pie ride he never takes advantage of it.”
7. Lindsay Harper (Beach Skipper): “Mile will suit. Drawn seven. If he can get to the breeze without doing too much he can earn.”
8. Chris Voak (Anvil Rollover): “Racing in good form but the draw hurts. Will run a good race.”
9. Greg Bond (Where Ya Bin): “Barrier draw over the mile makes it hard.”
11. Aldo Cortopassi (Carramar Arapaho): “Will drive for luck.”
12. Gary Hall Snr (Alta Intrigue): “Each-way chance. The one will be hard to beat.”
RACE 2 – VILI’S FAMILY BAKERY PACE
1.Matt Scott (Qtown Rip Roaring): “Held up last week. We will make the most of the one draw.”
2.Mike Reed (Arma Indie): “If we led we would keep it. She will be hard to beat.”
3.Brett Smith (Mcardles Gem): “Was pleased with the horse’s effort last week and he has progressed nicely through the week.”
5. Matt Scott (C C Chevron): “Racing well. Place chance.”
6.Lindsay Harper (Bettorstartdreaming): “If he had have drawn well he would’ve led and won. We will work forward to the breeze. He’s led and breezed in two runs here and run second and third. He needs to be on speed.”
7. Jocelyn Young (Bad Round): “Few runs away from his best and needs a better draw.”
8. Ryan Warwick (Lightning Jolt): “Racing well. Needs luck.
9. Matt Scott (Black Jack Zac): “Right race. Wrong draw.”
10. Nathan Turvey (Jack William): “Not a good draw for him.”
12. Callan Suvaljko (Sightseeing Anvil): “Back to the fence and will take a few shortcuts. Will drive for luck.”
RACE 3 – SIMMONDS STEEL PACE
- Chris Voak (Roman Art): “Excellent draw. Will lead and take some catching. Solid chance.”
- Ross Olivieri (Quick Stride): “Hard what to make of his form. He’s an each-way chance.”
- Aldo Cortopassi (Roman Aviator): “Will run the gate and be positive.”
- Gary Hall Snr (Mister Bushido): “Needs the race run upside down.”
- Aiden De Campo (American Delight): “Awkward draw in an even field. Happy with her at home.”
- Hayden Charles (Rabchenko): “First-up and an average draw. Looks tricky on paper.”
- Callan Suvaljko (A Boy Named Rosie): “Will go back and take shortcuts. Look to drive for luck.”
- Gary Hall Snr (Liam Neil): “Drawn badly. He’s going well though.”
- Mike Reed (Gran Chico): “Will go back. Hope to run on at the finish. Went well last week.”
- Shannon Suvaljko (Vivere Damore): “Good draw for her in this grade. Will follow the one and is each-way.”
RACE 4 – RETRAVISION PACE
1.Aiden De Campo (Bettor Be Oscar): “Should lead and go close on his recent and best form.”
2.Jocelyn Young (Has No Fear): “Should get a nice soft trip. Going well. Place chance.”

6.Ross Olivieri (Jimmy Mack): “Fast horse. With the right run he could surprise.”
7.Gary Hall Jnr (Always An Honour): “Happy with his run last week. Good each-way chance.”
8.Shane Young (Rosies Ideal): “Working well but has a tough draw.”
9.Colin Brown (Patrickthepiranha): “Has early speed drawn inside so may look to sit over 2500. Retains his health and fitness.”
RACE 5 – HOWARD PORTER MEMORIAL
1.Gary Hall Snr (Chicago Bull): “Hard to beat.”
2.Chris Voak (Vultan Tin): “Appears as though the rest of us are running for minor money with the Bull drawn one. Interesting to see where he’s at first-up.”
3.Robert MacDonald (Argyle Red): “Will all depend on where he settles as to whether he plays a part.”
4.Aldo Cortopassi (Convert Denario): “Will see where we land early and drive as it happens.”
5.Ryan Bell (Shockwave): “I haven’t spoke to Aiden. He can do what he wants as long as he looks after him. He just keeps finding a champion that’s drawn better than him.”
6.Gary Hall Snr (Eloquent Mach): “Hope he goes alright. Probably not up to Free-For-All.”
8.Nathan Turvey (Simba Bromac): “Not a good draw.”
9.Stephen Reed (Bletchley Park): “Be driven conservatively and hope to be running on late.”
10.Justin Prentice (Jack Farthing): “Looks a perfect draw. Will be a good test for him.”
11.Greg Bond (El Jacko): “Probably be three the fence. Hopefully hits the line hard.”
RACE 6 – WESTRAL PACE
1.Ryan Cummins (Be On Guard): “Perfect draw. Should be right in the finish.”
2.Craig Saligari (Bob Wheel): “Leading would be nice but breezing may be the go.”
4.Callan Suvaljko (Rocknroll Whitby): “Racing well. Just needs a touch of luck to be in the finish. May drive a little more positively.”
7.Chris Voak (Sokys Bigbullet): “Average barrier. However, G-man is confident. I like that.”
8.Gary Hall Snr (Whozideawasthis): “Barrier not a help. One dimensional horse. If he doesn’t get the right run he can be disappointing.”
9.Bailey McDonough (Minimum Wage): “He’s going okay. Draw is a killer.”
10.Emily Suvaljko (Anime): “Will be leaders back or three back at worst. If they run evens it will bring him into this.”
RACE 7 – ALLWOOD STUD FARM F&M PACE
1.Bailey McDonough (Thejewelinhereye): “Last start not her best but the draw suits. Hopefully she can bounce back to some form.”
3.Shannon Suvaljko (Iona Diamond): “Nice race for her. Great each-way.”
4.Aiden De Campo (Blue Chip Adda): “Draws better this week. Needs luck but is going well.”
5.Ryan Bell (Radiant Amber): “She’s going well. Got knocked out of it last start. Come through the run well. Tricky draw. Will just have to find a hole.”
6.Luke Edwards (Leap Of Faith): “No luck last week. Going well. Bad draw again.”
7.Ross Olivieri (Just Makemine Diamonds): “Not sure if we will run her yet.”
8.Ross Olivieri (Zozo Ma Gogo): “At the top of her game. Very dour but she’s showing more dash. Silly chance.”
9.Ross Olivieri (Trinity Bromac): “Best chance. Super on Monday.”
RACE 8 – CATALANO TRUCK & EQUIPMENT TROT
1.Michael Young (Champagne Prince): “Working pretty well. He seems to be pretty bombproof in his races. I expect him to run a good race if he steps and led.”
4.Emily Suvaljko (One Bid Buys): “With a safe getaway she could lob a handy spot. Got a nice little kick on her.”
5. Dylan Egerton-Green (My Mdina): “Racing super.”
6.Shannon Suvaljko (Lifes Delight): “Going well but it’s a good field. Drive the race as it comes.”
8.Ross Olivieri (King Of The Roses): “Long time between runs. Two trials have been slow times but he did beat pacers. Has a nice turn-of-foot and is a safe beginner. Nice horse. Might improve with the run.”
9.Gary Hall Snr (Princess Mila): “Good depth in the race. She’s the best trotter in the race. Not flash from the stand though is the concern.”
10.Kim Prentice (Spud): “Try and pass as many as we can. He’s going very well but it’s very hard from 30m.”
RACE 9 – CHOICES FLOORING 2YO FILLIES PREFERRED PACE
1.Ryan Bell (Testarudo): “She will hold up early. She showed good gate speed at Bunbury and she will only benefit from that. If Browny’s horse isn’t there straightaway she might hold up.”
2.Chris Voak (Captains Beachbabe): “Never driven the horse. She has shown enough to be in the money from the draw though.”
5.Emily Suvaljko (Secret Reaction): “Bit of an awkward draw. Will speak to Mr Howie on tactics.”

7.Nathan Turvey (Bettor Beach Belle): “She’ll go well. She’s adaptable.”
8.Shannon Suvaljko (Benesari Lane): “Difficult draw but will run on. Nice filly.”
9.Colin Brown (Joelene): “Should hit the line hard.”
RACE 10 – WESTSIDE AUTO WHOLESALE 3YO PACE
1.Shane Steele (Stormyskyes): “Going well. Will be trying to lead all the way.”
2.Gary Hall Snr (Master Publisher): “Might need the run. Will have a look at the lead.”
3.Chris Voak (Hotfoot It): “I like the horse. Jason is doing a great job. Nice field here.”
4.Gary Hall Snr (Copy N Pace): “Nice horse. He will run a race.”
5.Jocelyn Young (Warriors Legacy): “Improving but it’s a tricky draw. Wait for another day.”
6.Michael Brennan (Withoutthetuh): “Going extra well. Maybe a bit hard from the draw. Might be an opportunity to drive him for his best asset, speed.”
7.Gary Hall Snr (The Ideal Touch): “Junior chose to drive him. Got the race fitness. Working well.”
