August 1: Saturday-Belmont Park
- Chris and Michael Gangemi commenced their new partnership as co-trainers in flying fashion when Floyd won the $100,000 Jockey Celebration Day Sprint (1000m).
- Trainer Graeme Ayres and jockey Mitchell Pateman combined with Miss Quoted to score the first win of the new season.
- Jockeys William Pike and Chris Parnham dominated the nine race card with three winners each.
August 05: Wednesday-Belmont Park.
- Apprentice Madi Derrick posted her first metropolitan double after guiding home Treat Yo Self for trainer Adam Durrant and The Justin Warwick-trained Hoolahoops.
August 06: Thursday-Pinjarra
- After a five month injury layoff Troy Turner was back in the winner’s list on Just Under.
- Lucy Warwick rode a treble on Fusion, Classic Magnus and Eurotrip, her first wins since an ankle complaint kept her out of the saddle for multiple weeks.
August 08: Saturday-Belmont Park
- Consistent four-year-old Massimo won the $100,000 Ngawyni Stakes (1400m).
- Laqdar Ramoly posted his first Perth win on the Jim Taylor-trained Foxhood.
August 12: Wednesday-Belmont Park
- Just weeks after being diagnosed with bone cancer, Damian Miller received a major emotional boost when he partnered Excelestial to an upset victory.
August 15: Saturday-Belmont Park.
- Chris and Michael Gangemi continued their flying start to the 2020-2021 season when Saracino, perfectly rated in front by Shaun McGruddy, won the Listed Belmont Newmarket (1200m). The seven-year-old posted his first win under the Gangemi banner since arriving in Perth two years ago.
- Former jockey Misty Bazeley celebrated her first Saturday training success when Eeyore Wayz unleashed a surging finish from the back of the field.
- Exciting speedster Clairvoyance ended her maiden preparation undefeated, scoring a scorching third consecutive win by leading and dominating her rivals by 5 ¼ lengths.
August 19: Wednesday-Belmont Park
- Speedbird scored a big upset at $101 to end a long drought for trainer, Adam Fairey.
August 22: Saturday-Belmont Park.
- A top return from a wind operation for Lonsdale Lady, who defeated the hot favourite Leading Girl by a long-neck. The daughter of Maschino underlined her talent when last in work by winning the Listed 1000 Guineas (1800m).
August 23: Sunday-Kalgoorlie
- Fair Sonari’s goldfields aspirations spiked after leading to win the Tattersall’s Cup (1612m), the same race he won last year before progressing to claim the Coolgardie Cup (1760m).
August 26: Wednesday-Belmont Park.
- Apprentice Austin Galati savoured his second career win and first in town when he came charging down the outside of the track on in-form mare Flower Of Scotland.
August 27: Thursday-Northam
- Patristic’s half-length victory over Awesome As gave Greg Cave his first training success.
August 29: Saturday-Belmont.
- Trainer Adam Durrant breathed a sigh of relief when his speedy, but erratic mare This’ll Testya competed a successful return to racing.
- Free Trade bounced back from a shock defeat in the Belmont Newmarket (1200m) to claim the Idyllic Prince Stakes (1300m).
August 30: Carnarvon-Sunday
- Jelani Express continued his winning form in the Stu Maver Memorial Sprint (1000m).
- Tom Almighty, fresh from his previous victory in Katherine, ran on from third position on straightening to complete a double in the Peter Evans Memorial Handicap, the lead-in to the Carnarvon Cup.
