NOVICE 490m RACES ADDED TO THE PROGRAM
Please note a Novice 490m race has been added to the Mandurah Tuesday 12 July and 26 July meetings in lieu of a Maiden 405m division.
Reminder that there is no beating the grader in Novice events, therefore as per Maiden races, the Unfulfilled Commitments Policy 3.2.10.1 does not apply. So if a greyhound already has a commitment to race at the time of grading the fields, it will be selected behind those greyhounds with no commitment to race.
HARD COPY FEATURE RACE NOMINATION FORMS
With most nominators using the OzChase online nomination platform or the telephone to lodge their nominations, the traditional hard copy of the feature race nomination forms have almost become obsolete.
It is still important that nomination forms are produced, so the conditions of the race can be sighted, however a hard copy version will only be available online via the rwwa website.

Fax nominators can still write the name of the feature race on a standard form.
NATIONALS CLOSING DATE
AGRA has released the National Conditions of Nomination Forms to all clubs.
Greyhounds are eligible to represent WA should they be domiciled here for not less than 76 days out of the 150 days immediately prior to the National Acceptance Closing Date on Friday 22 July 2016. A greyhound first named and registered in WA may return here to qualify for the Nationals, ONLY if not eligible to compete for any other State under the domicility clause.
Trainers who send a greyhound interstate for any period of time leading up to the running of the WA Sprint and Distance Championship Heats on Saturday 6 August 2016 should ensure they lodge the appropriate Notice of Training / Removal from Kennel Form immediately, as these will be used to confirm greyhound eligibility. A greyhound competing interstate will be considered as domiciled here during that period, should it remain in the care of its WA trainer.
Nominations for the Nationals must be lodged with RWWA by 12noon on Friday 22 July 2016 for greyhounds you wish to compete in the state heats. Trainers may nominate in both the Sprint and Distance if they so desire. In a break from tradition the National Conditions of Nomination Form does not have to be sent in and nominations can be received via the regular online OzChase internet noms, telephone & fax methods. (For OzChase Internet nominators the races will be open on Wednesday 20 July).
It is up to the nominator to be aware of the Nationals Conditions of Nomination Form stipulations. That is important now that a physical hard copy is not required to be sent in. The Friday 22 July 12noon cut off only satisfies the national criteria for the events and does not nominate a greyhound for the qualifying events – the WA Sprint and Distance Championships. Separate Feature Event Nomination Forms will be produced for those events, with nominations closing at 8.30am on Tuesday 2 August 2016 via the standard nomination channels. Greyhounds will not be drawn into either of these series if not nominated initially by the closing date on 22 July 2016.
Post – 22 July, trainers are requested to contact the Greyhounds Trainers’ Service Centre on 9445 5287 to withdraw the national nomination for any greyhound should it not be competing for the Nationals via the WA Sprint or Distance Championships. Likewise trainers may withdraw a nomination for one of the events if a greyhound was initially nominated for both distances.
