Wheatbelt ‘Iso Heat’ Winner Crowned
Northam local Jessica Reidy has been named the winner of WA Fashions on the Field’s virtual Wheatbelt heat, earning herself a nomination to the prestigious final at Ascot later this year.
After hearing about the virtual competition, Ms Reidy followed her vision of creating a sustainable and locally made outfit.
“I bought the Only One Ashley dress second-hand a couple of years ago, and I have been looking for the right opportunity to wear it ever since,” Ms Reidy said.
“The shoes and handbag were already part of my wardrobe, however I decided to source a custom made headpiece.”
“I contacted Maker Millinery in Kalgoorlie, and they created the most incredible headband for me.”
Ms Reidy, a seasoned racegoer, said she had entered Fashions on the Field competitions locally in previous years.
“Given the current circumstances, I figured the ‘Iso Edit’ would be the closest thing to attending the races for a little while,” Ms Reidy said.
“I had a dress that I had wanted to wear to the races for quite some time, so I decided to give it a go!”
Along with a $750 cash prize, Ms Reidy also received a $500 donation from Community TAB to give to a local charity of her choice.
“I have selected to donate the $500 to Bakers Hill Horsepower Carriage Driving Centre. My son is severely disabled, and his school takes the children to the Centre for excursions,” Ms Reidy said.
“Centres like these are so important to promote inclusion in every aspect of life.”
From May to August, the following virtual WA Fashions on the Field heats will take place, which will be open to ladies living within each respective region:

The winner of each ‘iso heat’ will also receive $750 cash, along with a $500 donation to a local charity of their choice from Primary Sponsor of the event, Community TAB.
