Write A Melody Returns In Winning Fashion

The two-year-olds kicked off the meeting at Pinjarra, with the $1.30 favourite Rambo Rabbit leading all the way to cling on to a narrow victory for trainer Justin Prentice in a mile rate of 2:00:6. Driven by Gary Hall Jnr, Rambo Rabbit was having just his second start in a race, saluting for breeder and owner Ross Waddell over the 2185m in the six-horse-field.
It was another one for the leaders in race two, with Roll Of Honour starting as the $1.36 favourite and winning untouched by 24.8m for father and son, Kevin and Dylan Egerton-Green. In a mile rate of 1:58:5 over the 2185m, the last start runner-up never looked in danger, breaking his maiden status at start 12, where he has been unplaced just once, taking his earning to $12,054 not including the Westbred bonuses he has accumulated in his age-based races.
With theshort-priced favourite Marie Long NZ galloping her way out of contention from release point, it became a race for anyone, but it was Write A Melody who made her winning return to the track in the Tom Charles Memorial fillies and mares maiden, resuming after a year on the sidelines for trainer Barry Howlett. Giving Chris Voak the first of his winning double on the card, the pint-sized five-year-old mare came from behind to win by a head in a mile rate of 2:00:2 over the 2185m journey.

After surrendering the lead early in the fourth, Keegan Banner NZ made it two from two for Sonia Zucchiatti and Deni Roberts since making the move from New Zealand. With the leader starting to tire at the 800m point, Keegan Banner NZ hit the front with 550m to go, going on to win by 1.6m in 1:57:5 in the 2185 trip.
Ima Rockabilly Rebel NZ led all the way in race five to win by 5m in 1:58:6 for Team Bond and Ryan Warwick. Starting from barrier four over the 2185m, the short-priced favourite ran the gate and got to the lead within 100m from release point, going on to win comfortably and recording his fourth career win in just 9 starts.
Justin Prentice trained a winning double at Pinjarra, with Back In Twenty working his way to the lead early, saluting for reinswoman Maddison Brown at $1.24 odds. The Allwood Stud bred and owned gelding brought up his 13th career victory in 65 starts, taking his earnings to $124,486, taking the win by 3.3m in 1:57:5 over the 2185m journey.
After leading in the early stages, All Aussie Mach surrendered the lead with around 1600m to go, but miraculously got the rails run with 900m to go when the leader hung out, allowing the four-year-old to regain the lead and going on to fend off his rivals to win by 1.6m in 2:01:0 in race seven for trainer Dennis Roche and driver Emily Suvaljko.
Hotfoot It NZ made it four in a row, a first for trainer Jason Woodworth, after stepping brilliantly in the stand and leading all the way in the last on the card. Starting off the front marker, Chris Voak got the four-year-old away safely, claiming the 2631m staying trip by 3.8m in 2:00:9.
Ashleigh Paikos
