Corporate Social Responsibility

At Racing and Wagering WA, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about conducting our business ethically and describes the way a business takes into account the financial, environmental and social impacts of decisions and actions it is involved in.

Effective CSR guides and contributes to the sustainability of RWWA, is recognised as good business practice and is increasingly expected by stakeholders.

We believe that behaving responsibly is critical to the sustainability of our organisation. Our CSR strategy is aligned with our business goals and values and fits within the following five key pillars;

  • Our People – look after the health safety and development of our people
  • Our Reputation – protect and enhance our reputation with stakeholders
  • Our Community – contribute positively to the community in which we operate
  • Our environment – minimise our environmental footprint
  • Governance for Creating Value – provide appropriate governance structures to safeguard value creation

Community TAB is responsible for upholding the CSR of RWWA. Community TAB is the brand that was created in November 2014 to package up and promote all of the funding provided to the WA community from the TAB. In the 2014/15 financial year, $145million is put back into the community from the TAB each year into the industries of racing, sport and not-for-profit organisations. Communicating this contribution to the WA community ensures that stakeholders are aware of RWWA upholding it’s CSR to the community in which it operates, now and in the past.
