Stewards Inquiry Trainer Mr Jack Cockell – MASARARI
June 6, 2018
Thoroughbred
RWWA Stewards have been advised by the ChemCentre in Perth that the urine sample taken from MASARARI, after it competed in and won Race 5 at Mt. Magnet on 28 April 2018, had a concentration in excess of 1.00 milligrams per litre of hydrocortisone.
This concentration exceeds the 1.00 milligrams per litre of hydrocortisone maximum threshold prescribed in the Thoroughbred Rules of Racing, and this excessive finding has been verified by Racing Analytical Services Ltd (Vic).
Accordingly the Stewards will inquire into this report on a date to be determined which the Trainer of MASARARI, Mr Jack Cockell has been directed to attend.
Mr Cockell was recently disqualified for a period of nine (9) months, effective from 16 May 2018, for the presence of cobalt in excess of the prescribed threshold in the horse BRITTELLA.
The inquiry pertaining to BRITTELLA was conducted prior to the Stewards receiving the results for the sample in question for MASARARI.
