Enticing Star Back On Track For Winterbottom

Quality mare Enticing Star’s Winterbottom Stakes bid received a boost when she came through her latest preparation in good order.
Enticing Star stepped out in a barrier trial at Lark Hill today (Monday) and won her 950m heat by 1 ½ lengths, pleasing owner Bob Peters.
Wearing blinkers and ridden by Peter Hall, deputising for regular hoop, William Pike, Enticing Star settled last and charged home late.
Peters is confident the daughter of Testa Rossa is back on track for the Winterbottom after finishing 6th in the Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) last-start.
Rated one of WA’s most exciting gallopers, Enticing Star was in season and suffered her sole loss in nine starts in the Group 2 feature.
The shock defeat cost her favouritism for the Winterbottom Stakes, replaced by defending champion Viddora, who holds the $3.50 market lead.
Enticing Star is the second pick at $5.
Peters was delighted by Enticing Star’s trial performance and said she had completed everything that he wanted to see.
“I was quite relieved and she was back to her normal self.
“I was hoping she would keep up a little bit better with the blinkers, but it didn’t seem to make much difference to her.
“If she ran like she did in the trial she would have gone a lot better than what she did the other week.
“She will continue to wear the blinkers in the Winterbottom Stakes and William (Pike) will be back from holidays to take the mount.”
