Jive Just Needs Room To Zoom

Gun WA stayer Moment To Jive is primed up and ready to go for her assault on the Group 1 Zoom Top over the 725 metres at the Meadows on Saturday night.
Trainer Sarah Appleton joined the team on the Sports Daily on TAB Radio this morning and confirmed everything was on track for her kennel star to run a big race in the Invitation Only feature event.
“She has arrived over here in good order and I have taken her for a look around at the Meadows.” Appleton said.
“In the past we have had her over here for longer before she has raced but we are trying the hit and run approach this time around and so far she seems really happy.”
Moment To Jive arrives in Melbourne in hot form having won 6 of her last 7 starts and her last four wins including the Group 3 Miata final have been in consistently slick times.
When asked if Moment To Jive was in career best form Appleton was happy to suggest so.
“She has had longer winning streaks but physically I think she is peaking.” Appleton commented.
“She is looking great and racing so consistently.”
Despite the fact she is a $21 chance on TABtouch Appleton heads into the feature event with a degree of confidence about Moment To Jive.
“Absolutely she can win it. I wouldn’t come all the way over to Melbourne unless I thought she was a realistic chance.” Appleton said.
“It won’t be easy and the box draw isn’t ideal but she has been flying and with an ounce of luck she can be right in the finish.” Appleton concluded.
The TABtouch market on the Zoom Top has Tornado Tears as the $2.10 favourite in front of NSW stayer Poco Dorado at $3.50, Barcali at $4.80, Rippin Sam at $7.50, Blue Moon Rising at $13 and Double Gee at $16.
Tornado Tears at it’s best would be mighty hard to beat but it is resuming from a long injury layoff and there is a lot of unknown in regards to how it will perform first up from a significant break.
Adding to the intrigue of the race is the fact that Rippin Sam is in a similar boat in regards to resuming from injury and the fact that the second favourite Poco Dorado tasted defeat for the first time over the 720 metre trip at Wentworth Park last week.
I get the feeling that with all of the question marks on a lot of the dogs towards the head of the market that the door may be ajar for Moment To Jive to be right in the frame for a top three finish.
I have been backing her with confidence at short odds over the last 6 weeks locally and she hasn’t let me down – I will be having an each way bet on her to give some of the big name stayers in Australian chasing a run for their money.
There is a Quaddie Jackpot of more than $60,000 on the Meadows program with the pool expected to be in excess of $250,000.
At Cannington on Saturday night heats of the Puppy Classic headline what is a strong Saturday night program.
Campini, Love Me Tinder and Rockstar Patriot all look to be well placed in their respective events.
