Hall of Fame
BEAU SOVEREIGN

In the 1981-82 season Beau Sovereign was the state’s leading sire on prize money ($437,995), beating Jungle Boy, Zvornik and Haulpak. As a three-year-old he won the 1971 Caulfield Guineas, beating Tolerance and Trifling.  The Caulfield Guineas is regarded as a stallion making race for the winner, with such winners as Redoute’s Choice, Lonhro, Luskin Star, Our Maizcay, Show A Heart and Helmet, to name just a few, to transition to a successful sire. Beau Sovereign was retired at four years, with a record of six wins, two seconds and two thirds from 14 starts.
