Boom youngster Campini makes his much anticipated return to the track on Saturday night in a heat of the Young Stars Classic over the 520 metres at Cannington.
The Paul Stuart trained chaser has lit the track up at all three of his career starts running best of night times of 29.77, 29.80 and 29.71.
The clash between Campini and West On Holly who is unbeaten after 7 career starts is a mouth-watering contest.
Campini was last seen on November 26 when he was a 10 length winner over Big Boy Roy.
Since then the son of Kc And All and Fantastic Dotty has been on the sidelines with a split webbing.
“It hasn’t been anything serious but I have just given him time to get over a split webbing.” Stuart said.
“He is back to his normal self now and I gave him his final trial on Tuesday morning which was exactly what I wanted to see.”
“I am really excited to be getting back to the races with him on Saturday night.” Stuart commented.
Campini has set tongues wagging in his brief career to date and is the fastest young dog we have seen in this state for some time.
“He broke in well but he is a dog that just seemingly is getting better with each start.” Stuart said.
“He wants to crash down to the rails early on in his races but once he gets where he wants to be he can really rev up.”
“He has been very strong to the line as well which I really like.” Stuart concluded.
It is no surprise that Campini is reeling off strong run home times given the fact his mother Fantastic Dotty was a 600 metre track record holder at Dapto.
Campini was purchased as a pup by WA Owners Peter Cameron, Cassie Levitzke and George Pispini and after breaking in was moved to the Stuart kennels.
“He has been a pleasure to work with from the first day he walked in the kennels.” Stuart said.
“He is the Pin-up Boy for the kennel and he is just a complete professional.” Stuart concluded.
Campini will exit from box three on Saturday night the same draw he came from when winning his Qualifying Trial in 29.68.
Stuart was comfortable with his speedster wearing the white rug on Saturday night.
“He is drawn pretty close to the fence which is where he wants to be.” Stuart suggested.
“As long as he can get to the rails without too much inconvenience he should take a lot of beating.” Stuart concluded.
In the same heat West On Holly comes from box eight, a draw she has a 2 for 2 record from.
West On Holly has not put a paw wrong in her 7 start career and Trainer Chris Halse has her flying through the grades.
While West On Holly has not been running the times of Campini she has proven to be an ultra-competitive race bitch who sets up her wins with slick beginnings.
The clash between these two young guns of WA Chasing will be a real highlight on the evening.
Recent Group 2 All-Stars winner Chips and Trains has drawn box three in his heat (race 6) and looks a great chance to get through to his third feature final in the space of six weeks.
Chips and Trains was runner-up in the Group 3 Mandurah Cup behind Bundles Galore in early October before taking out the Group 2 All Stars final a fortnight ago.
In the first of the Young Stars heats (race 5) you can make a case for a few runners with Trifive, West On Hazel, Quara’s Zade and Sunset Octavia all coming off last start victories while the Enzo Crudeli trained Snazzy Whompo is well drawn near the fence and has the fastest time of 29.96.
Gun sprinter Bundles Galore has drawn box one in the Free To All over 520 metres and looks hard to hold out while Junkyard Muppet has been impressive since stepping up to 600 metres and looks a nice value play in race three of the night.
