RWWA Stewards today concluded an inquiry into the analysis of a sample of breath provided by Driver Mark Reed prior to his driving engagements at Narrogin Racecourse on Saturday, 18 July 2009 indicating that the percentage of alcohol in the blood was in excess of 0.02 percent.
Mr Reed pleaded guilty to a charge issued under the provisions of Harness Local Rule 252AB(1)(a)(ii) which states: “A driver commits an offence if a sample taken from the driver is found upon analysis to contain the presence of a percentage of alcohol in the blood in excess of 0.02 percent of alcohol.”
Mr Reed’s Driver’s licence was suspended for a period of eight (8) weeks. As Mr Reed was stood down from driving on 18 July 2009 Stewards ruled that the penalty would take effect from that date and expire at midnight on 11 September 2009.
