Greyhound
On Sunday 3 May 2015, the RWWA Stewards and Principal Investigator as part of regular operations conducted surveillance of the training establishment of Greyhound Trainer, Mr Anthony Glenny which included a thorough inspection of the property and interview with Mr Glenny.
The activities of greyhounds trialling that was observed during the surveillance was in accordance with the RWWA Rules of Racing.
Stewards did subsequently request that Mr Glenny, as a licensed person, attend before them to assist further by clarifying various aspects of answers given during his interview and providing additional information to assist the Stewards as was relevant, which it is alleged he has declined to do and has refused to co-operate further with the Stewards in this regard.
Accordingly the Stewards are now opening an inquiry into the report of the Chief Steward and RWWA Principal Investigator regarding his alleged refusal or failure to give evidence in relation to an investigation being held pursuant to the Rules when directed by the Stewards to do so, arising from the Stewards visit on Sunday 3 May 2015 at his training establishment.
The inquiry will be conducted in the Stewards room at Ascot racecourse on Monday 18 May 2015 which Mr Glenny has been directed to attend.
The Stewards have also directed pursuant to AR93(5) that all licences and authorities held by Mr Glenny be suspended forthwith pending the outcome of the inquiry.
