RWWA Stewards today supervised track work at the York Race Track following extensive renovations over the last twelve months.
A total of eight horses worked on the course proper ridden by Jockeys and Trackriders. All riders reported the track surface to be in excellent condition and that the completed track renovations greatly improved track contour and camber.
Two (2) Official Trials will be conducted next Tuesday, 31 August 2010 for a final assessment and approval prior to the scheduled race meeting on Thursday, 16 September 2010.

The adjourned inquiry into the circumstances of the Official weigh in of Apprentice Andrew Castle, the rider of BATTLE SCENE being the first horse past the post in Race 7 the Kingsgate Cup (1300m) at Kalgoorlie on Sunday, 1 August 2010 will resume on Monday, 20 September 2010 at the RWWA Stewards Room Ascot Racecourse at 10.30am.
Trainers’ Ms Susannah Hoppmann, Mr Cliff Smith and Mr Paul Rowe will be required to attend.

Stewards today further questioned Apprentice B. Kennedy, in accompaniment with his Host Trainer, Mr R. McPherson in relation to him changing his safety vest after weighing out for MILTONS GIFT , in Race 2 the Westspeed 3YO Handicap over 1200m at Belmont Park Racecourse on Saturday, 21 August 2010.
Apprentice Kennedy was subsequently found guilty to a charge under AR 118A for changing his safety vest after weighing out for the above race and he was subsequently fined the sum of $500.00.
