Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) regrets to announce that Racing Radio’s Breakfast Show host Tim Gossage will not be renewed when his current contract term expires in February 2010.
“The decision is not a reflection on Tim’s performance as host for the past 3 years, but simply RWWA is not in a position to have the Show anchored by the services of a high profile sports presenter in these economic times,” said RWWA General Manager Racing Ken Norquay.
“RWWA continues to strive for cost saving measures within the racing and wagering business,” he added.
“Tim has been a great supporter of Racing Industry and a key personality at Racing Radio during his 3 years as the Breakfast Show host and will be missed at the station.”
Tim first joined RWWA as host back in February 2007 as one of WA’s most respected sports broadcasters, bringing his personal love of the racing industry to the station.
Following the decision being conveyed to him, Tim responded, “I am deeply disappointed I won't be continuing with Racing Radio but I will continue to be passionate and professional until my final on air shift.”
Tracktalk with Tim Gossage, will continue on Racing Radio 1206AM (metro area) until 5 February 2010.
Details regarding Racing Radio breakfast personnel following Tim’s departure have not yet been determined and will be announced in the New Year.
