Greyhounds WA Northam is located about an hour's drive east of Perth in the heart of the Avon Valley.
The track was constructed in 1996 and is maintained by the Avon Valley Greyhound Racing Association (AVGRA) under the guidance of WAGRA. The track was built inside the Northam trotting track and provided the first dual-use racing facility in WA. The track is a clay-based surface with an above-ground Bramich Lure system.
Twenty-six meetings are programmed Monday afternoons between the months of May through to October. During the racing season the first race commences approx 1.00pm and the last at 4.30 pm.
Full totalisator facilities are available on-course. A Dining Room and Bar are open on race days with Members enjoying their own special afternoon tea and bar facilities.
Broadcasting of Northam greyhound meetings commenced on CFM Television from August 2006 enabling TAB agencies and CFM subscribers to have a full telecast and teletext service. The races are also broadcast live by Racing Radio, and video coverage of all races is available from WAGRA. Races 8 - 11 are usually also available live on SKY Channel although this is subject to change.
