Community TAB

Community TAB is the program created to demonstrate and communicate all that Racing and Wagering WA gives back to the community via the TAB.

Community TAB supports WA in many different industries including racing, sport, not-for-profit organisations and West Australian events that showcase home-grown talent like the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.

Community TAB plans to put back an estimated $150million into the WA community in 2015. But this is nothing new - the TAB has been directing money back into the WA community for years, and last year’s contribution totalled more than $145million.

The bulk of this funding goes back into the racing industry to ensure the sustainability and growth of WA’s valuable racing industry. TAB funding supports everything from infrastructure at race tracks through to jockey development. This funding helps ensure the future of the WA racing industry which generates more than $550m in direct expenditure. It also supports the viability of our 55 clubs – of which all but three are in regional WA.

Within the predicted $150million directed into the WA community this year $145million is directed into the racing industry, $4.5million directed into community sport and recreation programs and organisations and $500,000 goes to community partnerships.

Since Community TABs inception it has partnered with over 30 different not-for-profit organisations around WA to provide financial and promotional support so they are able to continue to operate within their community.

As well as these external initiatives, Community TAB has also launched a Volunteering Recognition program with RWWA staff to encourage staff to give back to the WA community.
