Elizabeth Lawton – Chief Legal Governance and Risk Officer
Elizabeth leads the Governance, Risk, Project Management, and Strategic Development teams, as well as the organisation's People and Capability functions.
The Governance and Risk team is responsible for overseeing compliance, risk management, internal audit, and the responsible wagering program. By managing these critical areas, the team strengthens RWWA's position as a responsible and competitive gambling organisation. Additionally, they provide corporate secretarial support and governance advice to the Board and its Committees, ensuring that strong governance principles underpin all decisions.
The Project Management and Strategic Development teams play a pivotal role in driving RWWA's long-term objectives. Their work ensures that projects are executed with precision and in adherence to governance frameworks, supports innovation and strategic alignment, and contributes significantly to the organisation's overall success.
Elizabeth also leads the People and Capability team, which is dedicated to investing in and developing the organisation's most valuable asset—its people. This team fosters a high-performing culture at RWWA, focused on professional development, personal success, and the well-being of every individual.
Through a governance-focused lens, these teams work in synergy to ensure that every initiative aligns with the organisation's strategic goals while balancing risk with commercial, social, and community objectives across RWWA and the broader industry.
