Australia's North West is one of the world's last true wilderness areas and home to the Kimberley - the inspiration for 'Australia' the movie.

Escape the winter blues and enjoy the Broome Turf Club’s hospitality as the club welcomes you throughout its winter racing season.

The Broome Turf Club is carved out of bush land at picturesque Gantheaume Point, just a stone throw away from the world famous Cable Beach. This idyllic location perched on the Broome peninsula is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, in fact so unique the Broome Turf Club was recently rated by as one of ‘Top 10 Stunning Racetracks You Have to See Before You Die’.

The main attraction is competitive racing on the firm dirt track, which is well complimented by the highly social and community aspects of race days. A joyful and colourful scene, the clubs hospitality is enhanced by local and imported entertainment throughout the day and evening. The nine week race season culminates in the highly anticipated Broome Cup Carnival in August, which attracts the high-profile guests such as Gai Waterhouse, one of Australia’s leading trainers.

Other race clubs in the region include the Kununurra Race Club, the West Kimberley Turf Club (Derby) and the Wyndham Turf Club.

Racing in the Kimberley is responsible for generating $8million in economic contribution to the Western Australian economy and welcomes more than 32,000 racegoers each year.
