The winner of the Final will receive a for a trip for two to London to attend Royal Ascot with Motive Travel, $10,000 spending money thanks to TABtouch, and more!
WA Country Cups caught up with Ms Horsman to talk about country racing and racing fashion, as well as the upcoming final, here is what she had to say:
1. What do you love about country racing?
I love that all the girls get a chance to dress up but the atmosphere is still very relaxed.
2. How long have you been going to the races for and what are some of your favourite memories?
I have been going to the races since I could legally go! It’s one of my favourite outings. I love getting dressed up, wearing fascinators, betting on the horses and watching the races in anticipation of a win.
3. Why do you enter Fashions on the Field?
I had planned to enter two years ago and had my outfit ready. I flew back from Perth the day before and the plane was full. They told us they had to leave half the luggage behind due to weight problems (including my suitcase and my outfit!). I managed to get my suitcase back one hour before the competition but was too sick with morning sickness to go anyway!
4. Describe your style.
I had to ask my family this and the consensus was ‘eclectic’
5. What tips do you have for people entering Fashions on the Field?
Definitely wear shoes that you feel comfortable in!
6. What are some of your favourite things about the Peel region?
We just have the best lifestyle here in the Pilbara. I love BBQ's at friends every weekend, familiar faces everywhere, warm weather and everywhere is less than a 15 minute drive.
7. What does it mean to you to be going to ascot to compete in the final?
It is quite surreal to have won and be going to Ascot to compete. Honestly it means a chance to catch up with family and friends at an event I absolutely love.
