Retired Racehorses

Well Cared For Horses Can Live To The Age Of 25-30 Years And Have A Relatively Short Racing Life In Comparison To Their Life Span.

Retired Thoroughbred & Standardbred racehorses adapt very well to alternative lifestyles, particularly equestrian activities. They are versatile and highly intelligent animals that respond impressively to retraining and re-educating by a competent person. A knowledgeable and competent retrainer can retrain a retired racehorse to a very high standard, some to Grand Prix, World Cup and even Olympic Level.

Treat yourself to a very special horse and enjoy the experience while offering a retired racehorse a new beginning.

THE SCENIC BLAST STORYBOOK

Trainer Danny Morton described Scenic Blast as the perfect racehorse. He had the perfect temperament for a sprinter, being very relaxed, but when it was time to race he would switch on with instant power. Morton described it as “freakish acceleration” and this power made him exciting for riders and crowds alike.

Now working for RWWA’s Off The Track progamme and know by his stable name, Clyde tells the story of what it’s like to be a retired racehorse in his new book available below.
