
IAN EDWARDS – CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

As the Chief Executive Officer, Ian Edwards is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the business and implementing the organisation’s strategic plan. Each year the Board and Executive review and agree the strategic direction for the TAB and three codes of equine and greyhound racing. This process requires execution of highly effective commercial strategies to ensure RWWA can deliver on its purpose to provide a positive, sustainable future to the Western Australian racing sector.

DAVID HUNTER – CHIEF RACING OFFICER
Appointed August 2022
David oversees RWWA’s racing division, including operations and commercial partnerships, facilities, industry training and animal welfare. In addition, the division is responsible for delivering approximately 1000 race meetings each year and promoting racing and wagering through television and digital media channels. David will also lead RWWA in repositioning the brand of racing, which requires strong stakeholder engagement across the racing community.

MIKE SAUNDERS – CHIEF WAGERING OFFICER

Mike and his team manage the RWWA wagering division and compete in a national market. The wagering strategy captures the entire customer experience and includes an exclusive WA retail license which requires continuous enhancement of the physical TAB wagering network. Competing against major corporate bookmakers via RWWA’s digital wagering platform, TABtouch, Mike’s division includes the brand and acquisition marketing team, product teams for digital and retail development, and customer intelligence and relationship teams. The wagering division carries full responsibility for wagering profit and loss and supports commercial outcomes while also being a champion for responsible wagering.

DENIS BOROVICA – CHIEF RACING INTEGRITY OFFICER

The racing integrity team comprises stewards from all three codes, racecourse investigators, RWWA’s veterinary officers and race day operational staff. The proper conduct and integrity of racing activities are a core responsibility of RWWA. The racing industry relies on public support through wagering on race results so maintaining confidence in the sport is critical. The racing integrity division, led by Denis, ensures race fairness to build confidence and support within the public as well as racing participants. This incorporates assurance administration processes including the licensing and registration of participants and animals, hearings and appeals, Rules of Racing, RWWA and racecourse investigations.

LESLIE CROCKETT - CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Appointed April 2023
Leslie leads RWWA’s finance and business services teams. The finance function is vital to the company’s fiscal health and includes planning and evaluating budgets to pay for new projects. The role aligns day-to-day financial decisions with longer-term company objectives. More widely, responsibility covers procurement and a range of business services.

ELIZABETH LAWTON – CHIEF LEGAL GOVERNANCE AND RISK OFFICER

Elizabeth is primarily responsible for leading RWWA on key legal, governance and risk matters and supporting and advising the Executive and Board. Elizabeth and her team assess and balance risk with commercial, social and community objectives. They contribute to the formulation and execution of corporate strategy and the delivery of initiatives across RWWA and the industry more broadly. The legal, compliance, risk and internal audit teams manage compliance, the responsible wagering program, general legal matters and the insurance portfolio to help RWWA forge its position as a competitive and responsible gambling organisation.

GREY PROPERJOHN – CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
Appointed June 2023
Grey and his Technology team are responsible for the design and execution of RWWA’s technical vision and strategy. Their aim is to run, grow and transform the technical landscape within RWWA with a strong focus on maximising the value of IT investments and enabling amazing outcomes. This is achieved by maintaining the oversight and direction of technical innovation and driving an operating model of agility in thinking and execution. The team provides both day-to-day support and delivery of major technology initiatives across the business.
