Grant and Alana Williams will claim their first trainer’s premiership at the end of the season, but the battle for the runner prize remains up for grabs.
Team Williams leads the way quite comfortably, however very little is separating Simon Miller and co-trainers, Geoff Durrant and Jason Miller.
Simon Miller made early inroads at Belmont on Saturday when Scalpel saluted, but the Miller and Durrant combination struck back with Show Honey
The jockey premiership mirrors the trainer’s battle with William Pike holding a commanding lead over a trio of his contempories.
Brad Parnham, Aaron Mitchell and Jarrad Noske are staking their claims for second spot, the latter two posted wins on Saturday
Mitchell, who has made a seamless transition to senior riding ranks, partnered Scalpel and Noske gave Belmont Sprint champion, Rock Magic, a gun run behind the leaders.
