Retravision Fremantle Cup Profile – Perfect Major
Perfect Major stormed into contention for the Fremantle Cup with a terrific third to the two stars Shockwave and Chicago Bull in Sunday’s Pat Cranley Memorial.
The jury was out as to whether he was up to the grade, but he passed the test with flying colours and thoroughly deserves his spot in the $300,000 feature.
The Art Major gelding made his way to Perth earlier this year after campaigning in Victoria for the powerful Emma Stewart stable.
Under the care of Ross Olivieri, Perfect Major scored at his first four starts in the west, before the brave third on Sunday.
The pick of those wins came in the $30,000 Preux Chevalier where he sat outside Euphoric Moment and wore him down over the concluding stages.
He has shown solid gate speed in his time in Perth, as well as the toughness required to have success at the top level.
The four-year-old, a winner at 12 of his 31 starts, looks destined to have a promising career in fast class ranks in Western Australia.
Record: 31 starts, 12 wins and 10 placings.
Prizemoney: $112,057
