It’s Time Says Price On Arctic Stream

Bunbury trainer Ross Price is not complaining about Arctic Stream’s last five runs, but he believes the four-year-olds recent run of form should have yielded more wins.
The High Chaparral gelding has run five consecutive placings including three this preparation and Price believes it’s time Arctic Stream captured that elusive victory.
Arctic Stream, drawn in barrier three and to be ridden by champion hoop William Pike, runs in the $100,000 Diggers Cup (1800m) at Ascot on Thursday.
“He has been knocking on the door at his three runs this time in,” Price told Tabradio.
“He probably could have won any three of those if things went his way.
“But it hasn’t and we are there again tomorrow (Thursday).
“It’s certainly within his reach, he has just been an unlucky horse at this stage.
“But he has drawn well and it gives him a better chance of being a bit closer.
“He doesn’t have to be as far back as he has been.
“I certainly won’t be telling Pikey how to ride him, but no doubt he will have some behind him tomorrow (Thursday).”
Meanwhile Price believes a wide gate will impact on Not Really True’s first start in the Tabtouch-Better Your Bet Plate (1100m).
The Not A Single Doubt two-year-old enters her debut off the back of an impressive 1000m trial win over Mini Winnie at Bunbury.
Mini Winnie franked the form at his maiden start at Ascot on Good Friday when he ran on for a solid second behind War Saint.
Not Really True has drawn the second widest gate in the field of eight runners. William Pike has been booked for the mount.
“She’s drawn awkwardly for her first start and is probably going to be out in no man’s land for a while,” Price said.
“She is certainly a nice running type filly who is certainly going to win some races.
“It’s probably a little bit of an unknown on how we are going to go.
“The top weight (High Energy) has the experience and will be hard to beat.
“But she will acquit herself well and is very forward.
“If she can get a favourable run from that wide barrier she will be in it.”
