The WA Country Cups Fashions on the Field ‘Peel Regional Heat’ was held at the 2017 Magic Millions WA Ladies Day, at Pinjarra Race Club on Saturday, February 11.

The winner of the Final will recieve a for a trip for two to London to attend Royal Ascot with Motive Travel, $10,000 spending money thanks to TABtouch, and more!
WA Country Cups caught up with Ms Kupsch to talk about country racing and racing fashion, as well as the upcoming final, here is what she had to say:
What do you love about country racing?
I enjoy how laid back they are, they are always lots of fun, family orientated, great days to catch up with girlfriends and enjoy some bubbles, and also meeting new people as everyone is always out having fun. It’s also a great excuse to get frocked up in the country, as I rarely have many opportunities to do so! I enjoy having a dabble at the TAB, sometimes knowing what I am doing and other times not, which is when I normally have a win! It’s so great to be able to get up close to see the horses too!
How long have you been going to the races for and what are your favourite memories?
It would be about 15 years, a colleague from work was very much in to the races and the fashion side of things, I always admired her style. We would have an annual outing in Geraldton for Melbourne Cup and the day after Boxing Day, and over the years have extended to many other meets and different race courses. One of my favourites is the Mingenew race day, where the whole day is spent there, including after races entertainment and food – and you pretty much know everyone there!
Why do you enter Fashions on the Field?
Fashions on the Field is reasonably new to me over the past couple of years, while I enjoyed dressing up and putting on a hat or fascinator, it has become more of a passion of mine due to a few friends in Mingenew! We even have a messenger group to discuss latest trends and what we all want to buy, much to our husbands dismay! A couple of ladies have taught us the racing fashion etiquette and we have gone from there. One of my good friends is even dabbling, very well I might add, in millinery – we are so lucky to have our very own ‘Mingenew Milliner’, I am sure we give her some headaches when we change our minds last minute.
Describe your style?
My style probably changes with what I am doing. Being a mother of a two year old has certainly changed my style, and I am also a nurse, so usually comfort takes priority, but generally whatever I am doing I like to be well dressed, feminine, sometimes adventurous with some colour, current trends and mixing it up with classic pieces.
What tips do you have for ladies entering Fashions on the Field?
Be comfortable in what you choose, if you are not confident with your outfit then it will show. Lots of research about what’s on trend, seasonal colours and styles, fabrics for different seasons and advice from friends has certainly helped me along the way. Focus on the experience and fun times with friends and take the opportunity to chat to new friends!
What are some of your favourite things about the Peel region?
I have been visiting the region for many years, my family used to own an orchard, but they have since kept the houses on the property, which is an absolutely beautiful part of the world, a slice of paradise. I always feel so relaxed when I reach the area, such beauty in the forest and rivers at whatever time of the year and then so close to the coast across to Mandurah with beautiful estuaries. A trip to the area is not complete without a visit to the Pinjarra bakery, which I certainly stopped at the day after the races! Pinjarra is now one of my favourite racetracks, such a beautiful track and facilities, and once again love all those trees!
What does it mean to you to be going to Ascot to compete in the Final?
I feel very excited to take part in the finals and the events in the lead up in Perth. I feel honoured to have been selected from such an amazingly well dressed group of ladies in Pinjarra and want to do them, and my group of FOTF ladies, proud!
