Thoroughbred – Stewards Inquiry – Stable Hand Anthony Bolden
17 March, 2017
Thoroughbred
At a Stewards inquiry held on Friday, 24 February 2017, Licensed Stable Hand Anthony Bolden was found guilty to a charge under AR175(y) of sexual harassment towards a licensed person through social media. The inquiry was subsequently adjourned to allow Stewards to determine the matter of penalty.
Stewards have today finalised their deliberations and a penalty of disqualification for a period of nine (9) months was imposed. When considering penalty, the following factors were taken into account:
- The circumstances and nature of the offence
- Mr Bolden’s prior record which showed a misconduct offence under AR175(q) in July 2013 which involved inappropriate text messages to another licensed person
- The need for the penalty to achieve an appropriate level of specific and general deterrence
- Mr Bolden’s personal circumstances
