Bonner Maintains Lead In Touchstone Farm Rising Star Series

Sarah Bonner maintains her lead in the 2016 Touchstone Farm Rising Star series after ending Saturday’s Laverton meeting on a winning high.
The talented apprentice booted home Sydney Rock in the Regis Resources Laverton Cup (1600m) and ended the card steering home Next Dawn.
Bonner’s winning hands proving the difference on Sydney Rock after the gelding ran second in the Leinster Cup (1600m) and Moora Cup (1800m).
Aaron Mitchell made inroads on Bonner’s lead after a top weekend in the saddle. He rode three winners across two meetings.
The improving Mitchell partnered Benito and the impressive Tradesman to victory at Ascot, giving both gallopers gun runs.
At Northam he saluted on his grandfather’s horse, Big Setup, scoring by a narrow margin over Starkle. He also placed on Cyberpunk.
Shelby Colgate celebrtaed one of her best wins when she combined with Gee Pee Ess to win the Collie Cup (2000m) by an easy three lengths.
The series continues on Wenesday at Ascot, October 26, Northam, October 27, Ascot, October 29, Mount Barker, October 30, and concludes on Melbourne Cup day, November 1 at Ascot, Bunbury and Geraldton.
