‘Horse With A Future’ Gets Gloucester Park Chance
Arma Einstein will be out to continue his strong run of form in this evening’s Perth Plasterboard Centre Pace (2130m) at Gloucester Park.
The Colin Brown-trained and driven gelding broke his maiden status in an outstanding performance at Pinjarra last month when he sustained a three-wide run from the 1200m to wear down his rivals.
He then produced another sound performance last Monday at the same venue when he dead-heated with another promising pacer Don’t Bother Me None.
Prior to his first win at Pinjarra, he finished a credible sixth to Give Us A Wave in the Group 1 Westbred Classic at Gloucester Park.
Brown said Arma Einstein, a full brother to 3yo Westsired winner Fifty Five Reborn, would be an exciting prospect going forward.
“I’ve always liked him, that’s why he’s got the name he’s got,” Brown told RWWA Harness.
“He’s always been a pretty clever horse.
“He sat three-deep from the 1200 and went 1.58 and home in 56.6 at Pinjarra when he won.
“I’m really looking forward to him progressing over the seasons.”
Arma Einstein is expected to start a warm favourite in the opening event on the Gloucester Park program, where he’s drawn barrier five in the eight horse field.
Brown said while he was cautious Regal Aura in barrier two early in the race, he expected Arma Einstein to be the testing material for his rivals.
“Regal Aura tends to bolt out of the gate,” he said.
“We’ll have to see what happens there.
“I think he’s got more ability than the rest of the field.”
Meanwhile, Debbie Padberg will unveil her latest stable acquisition Bettys Lass later on in the card when she lines up in the Retravision Pace (2130m) for the fillies and mares.
The Well Said mare comes to Western Australia after she recorded four wins from 25 starts for Paul Fitzpatrick in New South Wales.
Padberg said she expected a strong showing first-up from Bettys Lass and was excited about having her join the stable.
“I looked at her replays and she’s got very good gate speed and a very good sprint,” Padberg told TABradio.
“I’ll say to Dylan (Egerton-Green) ‘come out have a look and if she’s coming quick keep going’.
“She’ll improve with the run for sure.”
Tonight’s Gloucester Park meeting gets underway at 4.45.
