Nominations open for 2022 Ladies of Racing awards
Women’s influence in WA thoroughbred racing will be celebrated at the upcoming Ladies of Racing awards on Friday 29 April 2022, with nominations for the event now open.
The awards honour individuals who have demonstrated excellence and commitment in the four categories of leadership, welfare, administration and dedication to thoroughbred racing.
RWWA Chief Racing Officer Charlotte Mills called on the racing community to nominate women whose achievements were worthy of respect and appreciation.
“The awards are a great opportunity to come together and applaud the efforts of the many women who work or volunteer, both on and off the track, for the betterment of thoroughbred racing in WA,” she said.
Nominations close Thursday 31 March, with the judges considering:
- Leadership Award: An individual who has displayed leadership qualities, trail-blazing in promoting the WA thoroughbred racing industry or being an ambassador for the sport.
- Welfare Award: An individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the care of retired thoroughbreds and/or created awareness, passion and care for thoroughbreds once they finish their racing career.
- Dedication to Thoroughbred Racing Award: An individual industry member or club participant whose involvement has made an outstanding and consistent contribution to thoroughbred racing.
- Administration Award: An individual in an administration role who demonstrates exceptional skills in administration, media or marketing, or has been responsible for an achievement that has added value to WA thoroughbred racing.
