Pinjarra harness race improvements
Harness racing fans can expect more exciting finishes at Pinjarra Paceway with the new extension of the sprint lane.
An additional 33 metres has been added to the sprint lane following consultation between Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA), Pinjarra Harness Racing Club and the Breeders Owners Trainers and Reinspersons Association.
RWWA Chief Harness Steward Brad Lewis said the extra length took the sprint lane from 161 metres to 194 metres.
“The extension will allow drivers to enter the sprint lane earlier, providing advantages in terms of being able to make ground and greater opportunities to finish in the best possible position,” Brad said.
“The longer sprint lane is also expected to reduce the number of runners becoming held up for a clear run in the straight.”
The extended sprint lane will take effect from the meeting on Monday, 4 July 2022.
