Retravision Fremantle Cup Profile – Jack Farthing
A newcomer to the state, Jack Farthing adds plenty of intrigue to this year’s Retravision-Fremantle Cup.
The five-year-old has had just three starts in Perth under the care of Justin Prentice and has quickly announced himself as significant factor in Free-For-All class in doing so.
Jack Farthing won his first start in the state on October 23, where he defeated the first emergency for this week’s feature Braeview Bondi.
He then finished third to Chicago Bull and Shockwave in the Howard Porter Memorial a fortnight later to solidify his spot in the Fremantle Cup.
Prior to coming to Perth, Jack Farthing was a multiple Group 3 winner and was competing against some of New South Wales’ star pacers.
He showed solid gate speed on a number of occasions in NSW but hasn’t yet been used off the arm in WA.
The gelding will have the services of veteran driver Chris Lewis in the $300,000 feature, as he searches for a staggering seventh success in the race.
