RWWA Revamps Fixed Odds Offerings for the WA TAB
Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) today announces its plans to revamp fixed odds offerings for the WA TAB, delivering a better betting experience for customers and greater returns for the WA racing industry.
The WA TAB’s sportsbook offering across TABtouch and TAB retail outlets will be boosted through a new long-term agreement with Kambi Group plc, one of the world’s most trusted sports betting providers.
The Kambi sportsbook will also complement RWWA’s product offering for fixed odds racing, which is set to be brought in-house in 2021.
Currently, the WA TAB’s fixed odds product offerings for both racing and sport are managed through an Australian wagering operator.
The Kambi partnership, along with RWWA’s decision to bring fixed odds racing operations in-house will give the WA TAB a competitive edge, allowing for enhanced offers and customisable bonus options to that of other wagering operators.
RWWA CEO Ian Edwards said the strategic move would assist in optimising the WA TAB’s revenue for the betterment of the WA racing industry.
“As the organisation which funds WA racing, RWWA is focused on maximising its profits through the WA TAB in the long-term interests of the industry,” Mr Edwards said.
“The decision for RWWA to take over the management of its fixed odds wagering for racing, and enlist Kambi as its sports betting provider, forms part of a wider strategy to drive the performance of the WA TAB.”
“Further control over our fixed odds product offerings will provide us with greater flexibility as a business and allow us to deliver a more agile product to our customers.”
Kambi CEO Kristian Nylén applauded RWWA and the WA TAB for achieving excellent growth in a competitive market, and said he was excited to apply Kambi’s high-performance sports betting technology to progress the growth and take it to the next level.
“The agreement underlines Kambi’s ability to configure our technology to meet the needs of any operator and regulated market, and we are excited to play a crucial role in driving RWWA’s online and retail success,” Mr Nylén said.
The racing industry plays an important role in WA, generating more than $821 million in economic contribution, with its activities sustaining more than 7,360 full-time-equivalent roles.
