Senior racing investigator retires
A leading guardian of racing integrity is retiring after 16 years with Racing and Wagering Western Australia.
Chief Racing Integrity Officer Denis Borovica offered his thanks for the dedicated service of Senior Investigator Geoff Johnson.
“Geoff has been instrumental to many significant and important investigations across all codes of racing,” Denis said.
“He has facilitated training, accreditation and the development of improved investigative processes during his tenure, in addition to his operational functions as an investigator.
“His many contributions to racing include officiating as steward where required as well as co-ordinating the teams of people involved each year in the guarding of horses for various Group races during carnivals.
“His dedicated, professional and calm approach has earned him the confidence and respect of both his peers and the wider racing community.
“We wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
Geoff joined the team on 21 August 2006 and his retirement takes effect on 21 August 2022.
Racing and Wagering Western Australia has received a high number of quality applications for this position and will confirm an appointment shortly.
