The Last Word – Gloucester Park June 5
Ahead of tomorrow night’s 10 race card at Gloucester Park, hear from the all important major players in the meeting. Mon Lillies, pictured above, will have her final start in race six on the card.
RACE 1 –TABTOUCH 3YO FILLIES PACE
2.Kim Prentice (Soho Major Player): “She’s a sit and kick horse. Needs luck.”
3.Chris Voak (Star Of Diamonds): “Each-way at best. Good second to Double Expresso four starts back. If she finds the pegs first we may look to sit on Double Expresso.”
4. Justin Prentice (Alta Louisa): “Thought the three might hold up. I’ll come out and have a look. Forgive her last start. She never got a breather and her lack of experience left her vulnerable.”
5.Gary Hall Snr (Advance Your Dream): “She’s a nice filly. She grows a leg when she leads. There’s some quality fillies in this race. It’s not a bad field.”
7.Michael Grantham (Suing You): “She’s in form. Massive chance in this race. I’d say Justin would tell me to look to keep in front of Double Expresso.”
9. Ross Olivieri (Double Expresso): “Hard for her from the draw. Going well enough. Unlucky to have been beaten in the last two. I’ve changed her training around. Hopefully it sharpens her up a bit.”
10.Aiden De Campo (Blue Chip Adda): “She’s racing well. It’s a good draw for her. If the one horse doesn’t get away well that might be a problem. She will run a good race if it’s run to suit.”
11.Kim Prentice (Soho Whisper): “We might duck to the fence behind Aiden. She will follow a good speed. She’s working well but just needs luck.”
12. Jocelyn Young (Blockjorg): “I definitely think she’s racing well enough. It’ll depend where she gets to. I’ll have to see what Colin and Sue say as to where she’s at with two weeks between runs.”
RACE 2 – SIMMONDS STEEL PACE
1.Aiden De Campo (Tellmetoattack): “Like the draw. He’s racing well and it was a good effort last start despite where he finished. Will improve on the last start. We will look to take advantage of the draw.”
2.Chris Voak (Ultimate Offer): “Put a line through last week. He will go much better.”
4. Ross Olivieri (Dennis): “Hard to back him. Probably going better than his form indicates. Always a chance in a race like this.”
6.Greg Bond (Infatuation): “Going well. The barrier draw isn’t in our favour but I expect him to be competitive.”
9.Aiden De Campo (Mandy Joan): “She’s working the house down. We just need to wait for a draw.”
12.Michael Grantham (Affluent Bell): “Wrapped with barrier 11 now. I think we will be three back on the rail. We are a big place chance.”
RACE 3 – MONDO DORO SMALLGOODS PACE
1.Gary Hall Snr (Tuas Delight): “Happy with him. Draw gives him a chance.”
2.Gary Hall Snr (Extreme Prince): “He probably leads and that gives him his best chance.”
4. Ross Olivieri (Jimmy Mack): “Trialled attractively. If he gets a nice run then he will be right in this. He’s shown a little bit in his trials to get excited about.”
6.Nathan Turvey (Rakasinc): “Racing well enough. Tricky for him from the draw. I think he’s ready to win when he gets the right draw.”
9.Gary Hall Snr (Our Rhythm N Blues): “Barrier has fixed him up. He’s the best of my three runners in the race though.”
11. Jocelyn Young (Athabascan): “I did think more than likely we would push through if Extreme Prince is going to the top. We’ll be outside of him or definitely be close enough.
12.Chris Voak (The Dali Express): “He will be driven softly first-up.”
RACE 4 – VILI’S FAMILY BAKERY PACE
3.Michael Grantham (Crocodile Kid): “I thought the one might hold up. I’ll probably have to look early to sit on the four.”
6.Kyle Harper (Parisian Partygirl): “Racing out of her skin without luck. Awkwardly drawn but each was all day with the right run.”
8.Aiden De Campo (Baylan Jett): “Good last week. A lot harder than last week. If things go his way then off last week he should be competitive.”
11.Nathan Turvey (Carter Micheal): “He will go well. Last week 2500 first-up in that weather was like a 2700m race. He’s worked well since.”
12. Ross Olivieri (Madame Meilland): “Her work at home has been top class. She can’t draw a barrier. She needs to be in the top four or five in running.”
RACE 5 – ROTARY CLUB FREMANTLE FFA PACE
1.Greg Bond (Our Jimmy Johnstone): “We’ll look to hold up and he should be the testing material. The barrier suits. I can see him having Vultan Tin outside us.”
2.Kyle Harper (Anime): “Racing above his pay grade but should get a cushy run along the rail. Don’t think he will disgrace himself with the large jump in grade.”
3.Greg Bond (Taroona Bromac): “First taste of open class racing. He will be very competitive.”
4.Greg Bond (Ocean Ridge): “He was great last week. We elected to take a trail on Chicago Bull. He will be competitive again here.”
6.Justin Prentice (Always An Honour): “He should’ve won last week but he just over raced. He’s capable of winning in this company with a soft run. I don’t know if it will be Friday night. It’s a good test for him.”
8.Chris Voak (Vultan Tin): “It’s a terrible draw for him. He’s going well. If he had have drawn better he would’ve been hard to beat.”

RACE 6- ETCH COATINGS PACE
1.Kyle Harper (Mon Lilles): “One last hurrah. Win, lose or draw she will be heading for retirement and become a broodmare after the run. Was disappointing two starts ago when she led but should bounce back tomorrow night.”
6.Aiden De Campo (Bettor Be Oscar): “Loves to get on speed. He’s racing well. This looks to lack speed so he should look to get near the speed. If he gets the right run he will be right in the finish.”
7.Greg Bond (Mighty Santana): “Drawn an average gate. Not the strongest race he’s been in.”
9.Chris Voak (Bettor Party): “Went okay last week. It’s a tough draw.”
RACE 7 – HARRY CAPARARO WESTBRED 4+5YO MARES PACE
7.Aiden De Campo (Radiant Amber): “Really like her. We will drive for luck. The way she felt on Monday she felt like she would be competitive.”
8.Michael Grantham (Dats Abit Harsh): “Placing or a top five finish would be good for her.”
10.Chris Voak (My Prayer): “Not sure where she’s at. At her best she would be my best drive on the card.”
12. Jocelyn Young (Pamy June): “Initially when a I looked at it I thought dive to the pegs behind two better performed horses and hope for a bit of luck. My horse has breezed but that’s down in grade. I don’t think she’s not capable of it but it is her third run in 11 days.”

RACE 8 – DIRECT TRADES SUPPLY PACE
1.Chris Voak (Gangbuster): “Each-way from the good draw. Got the draw he needs but it is a step up in class.”
3.Kim Prentice (Soho Thunderstruck): “Don’t know what the one will do at the 2500. My bloke missed last Friday so hopefully he wants to race. Hasn’t missed any work and hopefully he will be sharper.”
6.Nathan Turvey (Miracle Moose): “He will go well. He’s versatile. He can breeze or go back. Emily can drive to the pace of the race.”
8.Michael Grantham (Maras Ace Man): “Wide draw will be hard to overcome. Place chance.”
RACE 9 – PERTH PLASTERBOARD CENTRE PACE
2.Justin Prentice (Babyface Adda): “His numerical form isn’t good at all. Last start Jnr said he felt good in the last 50m. Hopefully he jumps to the front and can get to the pegs.”
4.Chris Voak (Bolta): “Each-way. He was a bit flat on Saturday even though he won.”
5.Michael Grantham (Countess Grace): “She’ll be looking for the rail if she gets away quickly. Stands are her go but it’s hard to see her beating four of these.”
6.Greg Bond (Kilowatt Kid): “Going great guns. He will be very hard to beat.”
7.Aiden De Campo (Rum Delight): “He will run his consistent race. Small field too so he’s a place chance.”
RACE 10 – CATALANO TRUCK & EQUIPMENT PACE
3. Chris Voak (Black Jack Baby): “She’ll be driven for a sit and sprint. Nice filly and she’s an each-way chance.”
4.Aiden De Campo (Cheddar Is Better): “Driven him once before. He will go better as a three-year-old. Think we will go back and run home.”
5.Justin Prentice (Beat The Bank): “We will drop in and let him run home. He’s eligible for the Westbred.”
