To Fast To Serious Ready To Go
Talented pacer To Fast To Serious is set to make a keenly anticipated return to the track at Gloucester Park this Friday night, following an impressive trial at Byford yesterday.
There were fears the six-year-old had a tendon injury last July, but further scans revealed it was only minor bruising to his leg.
Trainer Ray Williams said it was a relief the injury wasn’t as bad as first thought and was pleased to see the gelding put in a good trial on return.
“He spent three months in the paddock, and we went and got him checked out at Trevor Lindsay’s place,” he told The Trots WA.
“It was only a little knock or a bruise that he got and he’s as good as gold now.
“We wanted him to sit back and run home in the trial and he came home himself in 56 for the last half.
“Hopefully he can go around on Friday night.”
To Fast To Serious won the trial by 4.8m to Twobob Cracker and rated 2.00.
He’s one of nine horses nominated for Friday night’s Free-For-All event, which includes Chicago Bull, Patronus Star and Mighty Conqueror.
Williams said he expected To Fast To Serious would be competitive on Friday, with a view to running him in the Pinjarra Cup in a fortnight.
“As long as he’s coming home into the top half of the field then we know we are on the right track,” he said.
“He will go into the Pinjarra Cup after that and if he ticks all the boxes, we could look at the Bunbury Cup too.
“I think this campaign will be the making of him because he’s come back stronger and he’s still so fast.”
Williams said stable star Magnificent Storm was in the paddock following his game fifth in the TABtouch-WA Pacing Cup.
Magnificent Storm will return to Williams’ stable in early April, while promising pacers Stamford and Ezana are both back in work.
