WA Racing Update – COVID-19
The WA Government has announced that from midnight Friday 23 April 2021 the Perth and Peel regions will enter a three-day lockdown until midnight Monday 26 April 2021.
Following this announcement Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) is liaising with the WA Government to determine if racing will be permitted to go ahead within the Perth and Peel regions from midnight Friday 23 April during the three-day lockdown and if so what bio-security measures will be required. Upon advice from Government, RWWA will release a further update as soon as possible.
Race meetings scheduled for today, Friday 23 April 2021, at Mandurah (Greyhounds) and Gloucester Park (Harness) are permitted to go ahead with patrons on-course, however masks are to be worn at all times by all persons attending racetracks (except drivers during a race).
The Health Department’s contact tracing team are pulling together a list of potential exposure sites of where the positive cases have been identified. Once the list is released, people who have been to the identified venues on the relevant dates must attend a COVID clinic and get tested.
