Harness
Acting on a report from Geraldton Harness Racing Club Trial Steward Mr Bruce Brown, on Sunday 31 May 2009, RWWA Stewards inquired into the conduct of Driver Mr Travis Bull during and following the running of Trial 2 at Geraldton on Tuesday 26 May 2009 in which he drove BARNEY OSHANESSY.
After taking evidence from Trial Steward Mr Brown and other witnesses, Travis Bull was found guilty to a charge issued under the provisions of Rule 243 for behaviour detrimental to the industry in that he used his whip excessively and in an improper manner during the trial and in the horse stall after the trial where he struck the gelding with the whip and his knee.
Mr Bull was disqualified for a period of 12 months effective immediately. In determining penalty Stewards were mindful of the circumstances of the incident and Mr Bull’s record.
