RWWA Stewards will inquire into the circumstances of the official weigh in of BATTLE SCENE (A Castle) in Race 7 the Kingsgate Cup (1300m) at Kalgoorlie on Sunday, 1 August 2010.
Trainers’ Miss Susannah Hoppmann, Mr Cliff Smith and Mr Paul Rowe will be required to attend the inquiry which will be held at the RWWA Stewards Room at Kalgoorlie Racecourse on Wednesday, 11 August 2010 at 9.30am.
RWWA Stewards have been advised by Western Diagnostics Laboratory that a banned substance (cannabis) as declared in the provisions of AR81B has been detected in the urine sample provided by Jockey Shane Gilchrist at Carnarvon Race Meeting on Saturday, 31 July 2010.
Accordingly the Stewards will inquire into this finding at a time and date to be fixed. Further, acting under the provisions of AR81A(3) Jockey Gilchrist has been stood down from riding in races, trials and trackwork until the completion of the inquiry.
