Thoroughbred stewards’ inquiry – trainer Julie Clements (Dannemora)
Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) stewards have been advised by the ChemCentre in Perth, that 2-(1-hydroxyethyl) promazine sulfoxide has been detected in a post-mortem sample taken from Dannemora following it competing in trial 12 at Belmont Park on Tuesday, 3 January 2023.
The findings of the ChemCentre report have been verified by Racing Analytical Services Ltd (Vic).
A stewards’ inquiry is scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday, 18 April 2023 at the offices of RWWA in relation to these reports, which Ms Clements has been directed to attend.
2-(1-hydroxyethyl) promazine sulfoxide is a metabolite of acepromazine, which is a sedative agent indicated for use in horses.
