HECTON BALE OFF TO STUD
Gun sprinter Hecton Bale has run his last race and will commence a career at stud.
The son of Fernando Bale x Searle Bale retires with a career record of 67 starts for 21 wins and 22 placings with more than $475,000 in prizemoney and a victory in the Group 1 Australian Cup and a runner-up effort in the Group 1 Perth Cup two of his standout performances.
Hecton Bale suffered a hock injury last Saturday night in the Winter Cup Final and the decision has been made to focus his attention on stud duties heading forward.
Kennel spokesperson Graham Crudeli was glowing in his praise for Hecton Bale.
“He has been a champion at home as well as on the track.” Crudeli said.
“He raced against and beat the best in the land throughout his career and his Australian Cup victory will go down as his crowning glory.” Crudeli added.
“We only had him for the last part of his career but he showed just how talented he still was with wins in heats of the Lew Dorsa, Winter Sprint and Perth Cup as well as an excellent placing behind the flying Orson Allen in the Group 1 Perth Cup.” Crudeli commented.
Hecton Bale is recovering well after his injury and will commence stud duties the near future.
“He is coming through his injury well and we expect him to commence his stud duties in full flight in the next couple of months.” Crudeli said.
Hecton Bale already has some straws available and his first litter are three months old. His service fee will be $1,500 plus GST.
Hecton Bale will get every opportunity to be a success at stud with his first litter being to Cannington 600 metre track record holder Petunia Monelli.
“Dave Hobby has his first bunch of pups which are out of top quality bitch Petunia Monelli and all reports are that they are looking great.” Crudeli said.
“He will go to stud as one of the best performed sons of Fernando Bale and we are really looking forward to a bright future in the breeding barn.” Crudeli added.
On Saturday night at Cannington heats of the Paradise Street Trophy over 600 metres will be the highlight with some of this state’s most talented chasers stepping up to 600 metres for a tilt at the series which pays tribute to one of WA’s finest ever stayers.
In the first heat WA Derby winner Premium Share takes on Reidy’s Runner, Boom Down, Dyna Orenthal and a string of other smart types.
The Crudeli kennel will launch a three-pronged attack with Boom Down in one, Dyna Orenthal in two and Allen Mike in six.
“Premium Share looks likely to lead and from there he would be hard to run down.” Crudeli said.
“If it happened to not find the top then dogs like Boom Down, Dyna Orenthal and Reidy’s Runner would come right into play. ” Crudeli added.
In the second of the heats Verne Allen and Bee Dee represent the Crudeli kennel.
“Incredible Hero and Eighty Eight look the main two there but Verne Allen has been racing well and he looks a great each way chance.” Crudeli said.
The third and final Paradise Street Trophy heat is dripping with class with National Sprint champion West On Augie taking on the Galaxy winner Rockstar Patriot and the Crudeli trio of Snallygaster, Dyna Dean and Mossimo Bale.
“What a heat! Augie and Rockstar Patriot look the big two but Dyna Dean and Snallygaster are both very capable and can play a part.” Crudeli suggested.
