Nominations open for 2022 Ladies of Chasing Awards
The chance to honour the crucial involvement of women in greyhound racing begins today as nominations open for the Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) Ladies of Chasing Awards.
The awards will be presented on Thursday, 31 March 2022, across the categories of leadership, welfare, administration and dedication to greyhound racing.
RWWA Head of Racing Operations David Hunter said he looked forward to the celebration of women’s achievements, both on and off the track.
“We are spoilt with talented and hardworking women in WA greyhound racing and I believe it is important to celebrate their success and thank them for their dedication,” David said.
“I encourage anyone who knows a worthy candidate, someone whose efforts help to make greyhound racing better, to nominate them.”
Nominations close Wednesday, 2 March 2022, with nominees to be judged on the following achievements:
- Leadership Award: An individual who has displayed leadership qualities, trail-blazing in the promotion of WA greyhound racing or being an ambassador for the sport.
- Welfare Award: An individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the care of retired greyhounds and/or created awareness, passion and care for greyhounds once they retire from racing.
- Dedication to Greyhound Racing Award: An industry member or club participant who has made an outstanding and consistent contribution to greyhound racing through their involvement in the sector.
- Administration Award: An individual who works in an administration role in WA greyhound racing who demonstrates exceptional skills in administration, media or marketing, or has been responsible for an achievement which has added value to the greyhound industry in WA.
